I'll try and find it here in Australia. I'd still like to see it.
I think it's about time Hollywood gives more tributes to these great jazz artists. Maybe if more people mention it, someone might catch on.
Sorry if there is already a thread for this topic, but I've always liked watching stories to do with real characters. Whether it be documentary or hollywood/european films. I'm actually looking forward to seeing La Vie En Rose- Edith Piaf film currently in Australia at the moment. My question...
Great nails decodoll. I read something regarding the "nail guide stickers" or whatever they are called in Dita's book. I thought she mentioned (from memory) that you could actually buy the "moon" stickers, but all I can find here in Australia are the tip guides for the french manicure which is...
Musically(as you've mentioned some good bands) we needed the 70's. It's all part of progression. Don't feel bad. As I mentioned before, each decade has it's good and bad points.
Doesn't really bother me. What I do think is a bit strange are movies for example made in late 60's and early 70's or later about WWII and you get like German characters with english accents. That doesn't bug me too much, more funny than anything else. I totally understand why it would have been...
I love that story. That's amazing. It's interesting to think the "other side" has a bit of a sense of humour, even though you would have been freaking out!!
A very good friend of mine has had weird ghost stories. When he was a little boy, he and his family lived in an old tutor style house, and...
There was definately some kind of revival going on because some clothing kind of have the style and shape but then look weird. I think maybe there was even a 20's thing? I was tooo young to remember.. You're right the later part of the 70's. I remember that blonde guy from Bosom Buddies. What...
I guess that's part of her charm to mix eras. Dita is an entertainer and has to be creative. She does have a great vintage collection. I guess you can't be totally 100% vintage material. Dita is added her own ideas and styles to the different periods also. Anyway, I think she does it quite well...
:o I hope this is not too late, but I think I'd better introduce myself. I've been a little shy about it, but here I go...
My name is Michela and I absolutely adore vintage-everything, music, movies, arts(fine, architecture) and especially the clothes.
I've had a fasination and love for...
Me too, I want to learn to sew. There's a course I'm thinking of doing, but it looks full on as it is a costume course. Learning the basics is what I really need to do first. I think it would be great to learn as it's a handy thing to know.
Good luck with your sewing. You'll have to post up...
That's so great you guys know how to sew. I'm seriously thinking of learning to sew(for beginners). I've got some patterns from the 30's-40's but just need to learn basics than get nice sewing machine.
I always liked the way the ladies wear snoods with those riding hats. Very elegant. Snood-it's a funny name isn't it!!
Sorry to bring up again, but I think Bernie looks fabulous. I'm even thinking of buying some stuff off her website. She always looks good.
