I just bought the Revlon Super Lustrous in "Fire and Ice" a couple of weeks ago, and it's quickly becoming my go-to daytime lipstick. It's a tad on the orange/coral side, but again, for daytime it's a nice step down from the rather dramatic blue-based reds I usually favor.
deleteduser, if you do order them, I'd love it if you could report back how you like them! Once I've accumulated a few paychecks this summer I think I'm going to order some.
I guess I'm the polar opposite: I've always loved the innocent, dreamy dresses and aesthetics of the 1910s, 1920s, and 1950s. It was only this winter that I bought my first black dress, and now I have four, all from the 1930s and 40s... much more art deco and femme fatale (respectively) than...
Thanks Miss Sofia! "Hiding it's light under a bushel" is such an apt description for all those crumpled, neglected vintage pieces that just need a little lovin' to look spiffy again :)
OK, I am not a big fan of Forever 21 for a million reasons... but these are so cute, and just $22!

Also, color me prematurely elderly, but I am in love with all these Amerimark shoes! I spy a very 1930s vibe here. I imagine they're quite comfy as well.
Thanks for the help Lauren!!
I was hoping against hope I might have some really early gems tucked in there :D The green thing is listed as a "pantsuit", so it has two legs... 30s pajamas of some sort I'm hoping!!
Well, Matchy-matchy is my specialty lol, so I suppose I'm a bit biased... but I think the teal t-bars sound adorable and I'd go for it! Drappa's idea for white or lemon shoes also sounds divine.
SiobhanJulia, your hair is too cute!! Oh, and welcome to the Lounge : )
Nosferaturoams, your hair is so darling as well!
I'm loving the new influx of young ladies! That sounds really creepy lol, but what I mean is that it's great to see other girls my age rocking such amazing vintage hairstyles!
I just took a chance on this mixed lot on eBay. It said 40s and 50s, but I'm thinking that lilac dress may be 30s, and the green jumpsuit thing just might be a pair of 30s beach pajamas? A lot of the pieces are a little strange (in a good way-- I think!), so I'd love it if someone with a more...
I know what you mean! There was a time when they only came out for special occasions, but now I can't imagine leaving the house without some seamed stockings anchored to my garter belt. I do wear tights a lot in the winter, as it's so cold, but I feel really frumpy and weird in them now. To save...
Hmm, I assumed it was discontinued because it was removed from the C&E website; I dearly hope they still have it at my local C&E outlet store! I hope you like it as much as I do; it's the loveliest face soap I've ever found. I have combination skin (oily forehead/dry cheeks) and this is soothing...
Amie, yes, I have lots of handmade things! I even have one adorable 1900s or 1910s nightgown with initials carefully sewn in. I actually didn't start buying things with labels 'til fairly recently; I think it might have to do with living in a rural area, where there were more isolated farm...
Sheeplady, I love Dr Bronner's liquid peppermint soap too! A quick wash with that, followed by a dab of witch hazel, is my summer cool-down ritual. Amazing stuff.
For bar soaps, I was a big fan of Crabtree and Evelyn's rosewater and coldcream triple-milled soap bars (that's a mouthful!), but...
I use Dr Bronner's for my face as well; unfortunately I can't use it in the winter, as it makes my skin all rough and dry, but in the summer it's a godsend (especially the peppermint kind: it's really cooling!). So just a warning, it will suck away your oiliness, but use it sparingly on your...
Oh, I know the situation too well; I have horses and farm chores to take care of, which can be tricky business when I'm trying to preserve a set for something in the evening. Like Frenchy56 and Miss Sofia said, a pretty vintage silk scarf is quite a chic look, especially if you tie it more like...
I adore this!! Next winter I'm going to try and get myself a faux fur with a face; I love my vintage real furs, but the ones with faces and feet are a bit too disconcerting for me.
This site makes cute faux furs of all kinds, including these adorable mink stoles...
