Depending upon your definition of "Golden Era" this may or not count, but in Lewisham in London there's the Rivoli, around since the '50's. It still gets packed out for ballroom and jive dance events, and has live bands.
Just acquired those spectators this morning :D - probably getting the penny loafers next time 'round...you're right, they really are pleasantly soft and seem to be comfortable.
Oh no, please say it isn't so. I love my coffee, and bread from time to time, but together, in the same bowl, lord no. Can't even eat cereal with milk or dunk my donuts. Just, no.
But hey, I wouldn't say no to that gorgeous looking big ole' scoop of coffee ice cream in the cone up above there!
I see that Jonathan Frid and Lara Parker are featuring in some capacity in the remake. She, along with Joan Bennett, was one of my favourites in the cast - truly one of the most stunning ladies ever (with one of the most insane and frightening laughs, too). I would have loved to see her in...
Oh yes, please! I watched it faithfully as a child and again when it was re-run. I think Tim Burton is one of the few out there with enough horror-fantasy cachet to be able to pull it off. And yes, I hope he keeps the music as well.
I think it must be said that Dark Shadows wasn't just a...
I've just come across these at Clarks

These babies will be mine come next paycheck. It's hard to tell from the photo, but the light bit is actually cream, not white, and with a patent finish. The quality looks pretty good up close, as well...
Oh, that is just adorable! It's on my wishlist. I love the version with the sweetheart neckline. I've just about given up on Swirls; the prices are just out of my ballpark anymore, and so many of them are in pastels which don't suit me anyway. The idea of a customised Swirl-a-like sounds...
Well, took me about 0.2 seconds to follow your Pinup Parade link! No Flirt skirt, unfortunately, but it's an excellent idea to keep an eye on (or get on mailing lists) of stockists...
I did have to alter the waistband a bit, tapering it as it gaped at the very top, but it was perfect after that. Pricey, definitely, but one of the favourite items in my wardrobe and I'm sure I'll get a lot of wear out of it.
While we're on it, I so wish they'd do that keyhole top in a...

The black one above I was wearing just last night during dance class. I can tell you that that skirt swings and twirls like no other and it looks great! I'll be doing a Jive pro-am (where an amateur - me, most definitely :), dances a routine with a pro - my teacher) in a couple of months...
That is so bizarre, just yesterday I was thinking of posting on this very same subject, as a salon near me is having a 25% sale on the process. Like yourself I don't want either straight hair or loose curls but a frizz-free head of hair.
The only person I know who has had it done said it...
I also bought this dress from eBay:
Apparently it makes me look like a Catholic school girl - not sure if that is good or bad!
Plus a book called the Charm Encyclopaedic which is adorable.
Be still my heart - love love the dress! Everything about it! I am a fan of the Catholic school...
