Christmas Present
My fiance and I stopped at my favorite store in Salem on our way back home from Portland. It's a rockabilly/vintage repro. shop and we became friends with the owners. Anyway, my guy surprised me and said to pick out a dress and that would be my Christmas present. I ended up...
I haven't actually seen her in the 1930's, just in her later years. I've only seen one of her movies, 'Autumn Leaves' and I thought it was just ok. I'll have to find some of her earlier work.
So I went to Sephora and the one I went to did not have Illamasqua in the store. I also wanted to look at the Guerlain lipstick, and they didn't have that in store either. I was bummed.
I started with damp hair so it wouldn't make my hair crunchy. There were some spots that came out a little crunchy but it was because I sprayed too much in those spots, but they easily brushed out to soft hair. I liked it because my hair didn't come out frizzy like when I'd use just water, and...
Yes, it is a true story. They used the court records and police reports from when it happened.
Also, I agree with Feraud, she was a working single mother so it would make sense that she had one outfit.
I haven't tried this, but I'll definitely have to pick some up! Thank you for the recommendation.
On a side note, the herbal essences spray gel that I bought and tried worked wonderfully, I've now switched from lottabody.
I'm feeling some pressure now! Lol I'd feel bad giving a recommendation and it turns out you didn't like the movie, or worse were offended by it. As I said before definitely not my typical choice in movies. Let us know what you think of it when you watch it.
Well, I thought it was funny. It's pretty easy to make me laugh though. :) It was quite crass, and I usually don't like those types of movies, but for some reason I found this movie funny.
Eeek! I haven't seen this movie, but this photo from it is not attractive at all! I've never been fond of Joan Crawford's appearance though so I might be judging it quite harshly.
illamasqua
I'm going up north tomorrow and one place I'm going to for sure is Sephora! I feel so deprived not having a Sephora close by. Anyway, I'm really excited to check out the illamasqua lipsticks. I don't even know why I look at other reds because I only ever use one color (a discontinued...
How about painting the nails? I rarely ever paint my fingernails because it's such a pain. No matter how long I wait for them to dry I always seem to mess them up. I painted them the day before yesterday and ended up with blanket imprints when I awoke, so I added an extra coat yesterday...
I just finished watching 'The Man Who Came to Dinner' and I thought it was fantastic. It was very funny. Sheridan Whiteside was such an ornery character, but very entertaining.
lol I agree with this too! I absolutely love how I look and feel once I'm put together and done, but sometimes the process can be frustrating. I especially hate when I spray the side of my face or my neck with hairspray.
Thanks for the suggestion of gel Lauren and Miss Bella, and the mousse...
Oh, I just realized I do have a dress I can wear. It's not as vintage looking as I'd like. It's more casual and comfortable, but I'd still look overdressed. Mine has a rose and horseshoe embroidered on each shoulder instead of the sparrow.
Inky, I love the look you put together, those shoes are amazing, and I really like the dress too.
Goldwyn Girl, I am jealous of that lovely dress you made!
C-dot, that skirt is perfect for you!
As for me, I have no idea what I'm going to wear for Christmas. Holidays are pretty informal...
