Ok so this is what I finally decided on:
http://www.lostworldsinc.com/Horsehide_Leather_Pea_Coat.htm
It's the Lost Worlds Black leather Peacoat.
Can't wait for it to arrive.
Will post pics as soon as I get it.
Dave
I know I know you're right! Please help me. (No really don't having way too much fun).
Although, I have made myself I promise that any new jacket I buy means that I MUST sell a jacket.
Dave
You realize this forum is like asking a group of alcoholics if they want 1 more shot! Lol "Just Buy it "
I'm thinking maybe we should start an AA type group for jackets lol
"Hi, my name is Dave and I have a problem......."
Dave
I kinda always wanted to ride a motorcycle. Something classic. But unfortunately I know absolutely nothing about them and had it drilled into my brain since I was a kid, by my parents that they were very dangerous. Had an uncle who was killed on one pre helmet days. But they still look fun.
Dave
Jackets look great on you as others have said. You have the advantage of proximity and can try them on and they seem comfortable from your posts. You can keep looking, but nothing substitutes for actual hands on which you have. As for color, that's personal. (Although I do like the Brown on...
Thanks for remembering me Van.
I just put the B6 up for sale on eBay yesterday, if you do a search for ELC B-6 it should come up.
damien, it's a size 44 way too big for you IMHO wouldn't want to sell you the jacket and have you end up where I am. Good Luck.
Dave
Yours in fact was one of the prime motivating factors caching my eye. I kept going back to your post to see the pics of your jacket. 4.5 oz of FQHH all I can say is WOW! Man that's heavy. I ordered mine in a little bit over 3oz FQHH in black because I was concerned about being able to button it...
Hey Butte,
Thanks, they said about 3 to 4 weeks for Lost Worlds Peacoat. Will definitely post pics as soon as it arrives.
Thanks for all your help.
Dave
@saucerfriend: you are right the russet is outstanding, but I have enough brown jackets, and as Butte (and my wife) has observantly pointed out, with my greying hair, the Black will look better.
Dave
OK so I just pulled the trigger on the Lost Worlds Black FQHH Peacoat.
Thanks to all who helped, especially he who shall not be named, lol just kidding (Butte), thanks to Butte, Van, Racer, it's like a friggin Emmy Award....
Will post pics when it arrives.
BTW, my ELC B-6 is up for sale...
Thanks for the reply. Please post pics when it arrives, dying to see people in them.
I'm going to pull the trigger on the Black leather Peacoat.
Thanks,
Dave
Butte,
I'm sorta leaning towards the Peacoat as well.
To answer your question, most are Brown (the Irvin, the Oil Driller, the BK is dark seal and the GW, when it arrives is dark seal). The only black is the Aero 1930s Half Belt.
And yes I have gone grey as the wife is quick to point...
@Hoosier: Agree. I trust Lost Worlds to size me correctly. They are recommending a size 38. Now it's down to which jacket and color?
Although, the Peacoat is cut a bit "trimmer" from what they told me through the body, which doesn't pose a problem for me. (yet).
Dave
@Butte: I'm 5'7.5" tall and weigh about 137lbs. After speaking with Lost Worlds, they said that both the Bedford and the Peacoat are same length.
What's your recommendation?
Dave
Ok I've narrowed it down to the Lost Worlds Peacoat and the Bedford, but I'm really torn between the two. Also, the color Black or Brown?
All opinions are welcome.
Also FWIW, I'm selling the ELC Roughwear B6 size 44, never worn other than to post pics, to fund this (Lost Worlds), due to it...
