Are you referring to some special technique, or do you just mean I need to give my hair regular, thorough brushes from the roots?
I suppose I brush it about twice a day, with touch ups as needed. I don't normally brush from the roots, though.
Dandruff, but don't need/want to wash my hair?
Hello all,
I have been washing my hair every five or 6 days, and normally notice it starts to get a bit itchy around the 3rd day, which hasn't really bothered me. Though, if I have scratched my head I have noticed (sorry if this is gross) what...
I have tried these. I suppose on the whole I wouldn't recommend them, at least not if you haven't tried other kinds of roller. There are pros and cpns.
Pros:
- smooth surface minimises tangling and (in theory) gives smoother curls. I think this happened when I used them.
- shape of...
Did my first set with the magnetic snap-on rollers last night and am *thrilled* with the results!
My curls were the smoothest and bounciest they've ever been! Have yet to try it on freshly washed hair though. They are definitely a good roller if you want to minimise tangle as there's...
Thanks, on my bottle it says nothing about permed hair though. It says it's okay for coloured/bleached hair, so I'm assuming that it's safe on my perm, but my hairdresser seemed wary...
That's okay, glad to have helped, and I don't think I've heard of those kinds of razor! I'm looking forward to trying the oil in the shower, then rinsed off. You just have to be a bit careful in the shower, though; the oil does make it more slippy. Regarding shaving, you don't get quite as much...
Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed reply! With regards to when you should put it on, I had something I was going to post about: I read today that if you find the greasiness too much even on damp skin, you can rub on the oil in the shower, then rinse off and dry yourself as...
I don't have problems with acne per se, my skin is just very oily and prone to the occasional breakout of spots- would you say almond oil is still my best bet? And surely whatever oil I use would be good for shaving just because of the nature of it? If Almond oil is quite lightweight then that...
Having washed and set it twice now, re-set once, slept flat on it, exposed it to windy weather and fussed with it plenty, I can safely say that getting a perm was a very good thing indeed. :D I could elaborate if anyone's really that interested, but based on my own initial experience, I'd...
I have a question- based on my requirements, could anyone recommend a good, inexpensive all-purpose natural oil? I'd need it for:
shaving
a body moisturiser
a facial moisturiser for my oily, spot-prone skin
possibly an occasional hair treatment and lipbalm
I liked using olive oil for these...
I second the suggestion of going to Boots/Superdrug and arming yourself with some cheap makeup, just so you can play around and not feel too out of pocket! Superdrug has the MUA range where everything is £1, they have a surprising range of products and colours.
Also, take the time to browse...
Thanks for the input, everyone. I have now bought some magnetic snap-on rollers- hopefully they will be the answer!
(Edited to say that despite my sudden hopeful excitement, plastic comb rollers can definitely not be comfortably slept on, despite giving great results :( )
Also, I was thinking...
I am about to try using Olive Oil to shave- I try and use natural or mostly natural products as my budget allows, and shaving products seem to be the hardest to get hold of! Lush's Ambrosia works well but at £9 a pop it's not cheap, especially in summer when I'm shaving every few days!
I have...
Thanks all for the replies. So, regular snap on ones are the ones on the link I posted, this is a regular magnetic one: http://www.viewpointdirect.co.uk/sibel-long-plastic-hair-rollers---various-sizes-10mm---30mm-1496-p.asp, and these are magnetic and snap-on ones...
Thank you for the advice :) When I unrolled the velcro rollers from the side bits of my bangs this morning they were quite frizzy :( though I did put my hairnet over them which would have pushed them up, perhaps I should have let them hang. Maybe I'll do my whole fringe in the velcro ones next...
Might be slightly off-topic, and not quite homemade, but have you tried the commercial 'crystal' deodorants? 100% natural, completely odorless. They're not antiperspirants, but trust me, I have been using mine for over a year and I've never found myself sweating excessively, or smelling...
Hello all,
I've tried searching for a specific answer to my question and nothing came up, so I hope it's okay to start a new thread.
I want to get some new, larger rollers. I don't really want another set of sponge rollers and perm rods don't seem to be available in the size I want (not on...
You have such a cute face ^_^
and you've inspired me to try that with my Bettie bangs next time! Whenever I do victory rolls with mine it always looks slightly off somehow, and looking at your great photo I'm sure a center parting in them would look much better! :)
