Vicuna fibers are even finer than cashmere, and it makes exceptionally soft and silky fabrics. As cashmere is to wool, vicuna is to cashmere.
I have no idea if it makes good felt. I might guess they added a little vicuna to more conventional felts as much to make them "extra deluxe" as anything...

A new Sterkowski motorcycle cap arrived today. It is very nicely made of good materials. It will be warm as it has a little padding in the crown to help it hold its shape.
My purple shirt may not be a good stylistic match for the cap, but I knew you would want to see it on my bean.
People mention my caps more than they say anything about any of the hats I wear. Since this is Texas, and people still wear cowboy hats, hats may be less unusual to the eye here. The comments are invariably complimentary.
What do you do? Hope for the best. And make sure you can return it if it is too far off.
I err on the size of too large. I'd rather have a hat be a little loose than a little tight. Fur felt sometimes shrinks a bit over time, and you can always shim it a bit, too.

The other is barbeque. There are two or three Texas-class (and therefore world-class) barbeque joints in Lockhart.
I'd have to find someone here who could re-block and do the sweatband. I know of only one place to call - let me see if they can do it. Of course, if it sells in the meantime, don't tell someone else no.
