My non-vintage solution are the little stackable drawers that Rubbermaid makes. I have three of them, I think. One for makeup, one for hair stuff, and one for odds and ends. Each drawer contains one category of product. Works great!
Something like these...
I love the difi destruct. Its what I used when my hair was short. Great hold, matte finish. Hubby loves it too.

Here are some links that talk about how to use hair combs. If you read my post in the first link below, I talk about how I use mine, and a similar problem. See if that sounds like your problem :)

I have a tattoo as well, but don't have a picture of it. Since it is on the small of my back, it is hard for me to photograph myself. I recently figured out what I want my next tattoo to be, now I just have to save a small fortune, back pieces are so expensive!
ClaraB:My first tattoo is a...
Since I am pregnant, I am doing a take on the "bun in the oven". I hope to get a chef's hat, jacket, and pants (I saw some good prices on Ebay). I am thinking of being "Pierre, ze French baker" and walking around with a loaf of French bread all day, and wearing a little curly black mustache...
I actually had a hard drive physically die. The internal parts stopped moving. And of course, I hadn't backed anything up. I was young and foolish, and thought both I, and my computer, were indestructible. I learned the hard way!
And recently my husband tried to speed up the boot time of...
Oh dear, I thought you were talking about waste water treatment experts. God bless our sanitarians, but I don't think they would look very good in that dress  lol
Sorry, couldn't help myself. The mental image I got amused me highly :D
Your dress is lovely, you did a great job!
I was frustrated - I bought combs by Goody at the drug store, and they worked perfectly. Then I bought a second set after the dog chewed mine, and they are miserable. The teeth to the combs are too close together, so they can't hold enough hair.
What I do to keep my combs in, that works like...
I do this, and it works quite well. My lipstick lasts for hours, and it barely comes off on a tissue, if it comes off at all. Just beware of oily/greasy foods, as the oil will re-activate the lipstick, and it will come off again. Just take small amounts of the food on a fork, and be careful...
Congrats PSG, and to the other quitters!
I had been a smoker for 13 years, I started about 15 or 16. Strange thing was, I was also an all-star basketball player. I would walk off the court and light a Marlboro Red :eusa_doh:
My husband and I quit a little over a year ago. The...
Holly,
I was in the same boat as you when I was in high school. I grew 4 inches during the summer between 6th and 7th grade - I was 5'7" in 7th grade. No one noticed my stretch marks because I was so much taller than everyone else, even most of the seniors (everyone in my school was really...
I have to admit, I don't have any! For a few reasons.
Money: my husband and I are very frugal, out of necessity and out of principle. No consumer debt (other than cars), which we are very proud of.
Desire: I have to LOVE something before I will spend my frugal money on it :) Since I...

Great website with lots of videos! It is how I taught myself to do a tight increase.

Kish - I haven't started anything, just browsing. I know that I am a size 20 or greater in vintage attire, and I am seeing many patterns in a 14 or 16. I know from experience that those are tiny garments.
So when I see a pattern from 1945 in a size 14, and I know that a regular garment...
There is a pattern to knit lacy stockings for the winter at Vintage Purls.

Resizing patterns
I am an advanced beginner with my knitting. Maybe an intermediate skill level. There is still a lot that I haven't tried to do, I am still learning.
I have been browsing some of the patterns linked in this thread. Often, the patterns aren't in the right size for me...
hehe, take a look at what forum the thread is in, first :) There are threads that sound like something I would be interested in, then I see they are in the "hats" forum, and know I won't have a clue lol ;)
