    Who watches the WATCHMEN?

I have always been amazed that they made such an incredible film out of such a mammoth book. That was, and this will be, a job for a superior screenwriter. Let's hope the guys they've got can get the job done.

What Was The Last Movie You Watched?

Tonight, I got to see Safety Last with Harold Lloyd at the old Proctor's Theater in Schenectady. Best part- live organ accompaniment. Totally made it an exceptional experience. The gentleman playing even played a little beforehand, and talked about the process for accompanying Silent Films. All...

    Monte Cristo anyone?

Just had one tonight at Pinhead Susan's in Schenectady- not so hot.:( Ah, no... Deep Fried Twinkies are a wonder. Really. I swear.

    Priceless

No, I haven't gotten to see it yet, and up here we have a tendency to never get smaller films. I love her as well, and I hope that she doesn't get herself involved in any more Da Vinci Code type debacles...:eusa_doh:

Washing one's face with beauty soap

I just found Pear's soap for the first time. Love it. It gives you a "squeaky clean" feeling, and it smells awesome. It is a little drying, but once I've put toner on, it feels fine.

    Names Of Love

I used to call my boyfriend Pumpkin, but he pointed out that I call everyone pumpkin. So now I call him Mungo. That's what you get for complaining...:D I call my son Smokey, as he had a run-in with the authorities for lighting small piles of leaves on fire... Scary part is that every man...

Work and the dress down code

I work in Retail, so the dress code runs a pretty wide gamut. Employee handbooks state that you need to look "professional", but it can be difficult pinning down exactly what that means. I started in '99, and the guys were required to wear ties. That went away in 2000, although some still wear...

    What Are You Reading

I do have Lulu Forever; it's a beautiful book. It occupies my coffee table at all times, right next to the Harold Lloyd book. I do not have Portrait.... Seeing as how I work for B&N, there's no excuse why I don't; it's available on the OOP site. I'll have to pick it up. I also was just...

    Air Travel with Vintage Makeup

A lot of places sell kits of small, empty, air-travel sized bottles. I would get one of those and transfer into them anything that you might need. Have fun!

    Another phenomenal story of courage

I remember when this came out. Like the GN Auschwitz before it, and, to a certain extent, Maus, it garnered quite a few complaints from various customers who felt that writing about The Holocaust in "comics" was a trivialization. I couldn't disagree more.

    What's On Your Vanity Table?....

If it all possible, get a whole set. (If you want an entire set, that is.) I started out looking for just a vanity, but I held out for the suite, and I'm much happier for it. It's nice to have everything match.

    Cleaning Antique Furniture

Thank you all! I think my MO's going to be to go as dry as possible. The veneer is one of my biggest fears as far as anything liquid goes. I would just die if I damaged it. We use this at work all the time for electronics and such. Can't believe I didn't think of it. Really, I truly...

    Cleaning Antique Furniture

I'm hoping someone can give me some advice on what methods are safe to clean antique furniture. I just bought a Waterfall bedroom set, and there's quite a lot of built-up dust in the seams and crevices. Can I use Pledge? Is there anything I shouldn't use? I really don't want to do any damage to...
