I was taught the same way in beauty school. Roll from the ends up. I have seen many articles, vintage and not that say you can do it either way. personally I haven't tried from the root, but I am thinking it would be easier. especially when it comes to layered hair and all the ends that are... -

What kind of product did you use? When I used to use these rollers a lot, I only ever used Brylcreem and Royal Crown. It used to hold for a minimum of 3 days! The only conclusion I can come to is I am pretty sure my hair was majorly thinned out and I had layers. So maybe it wasn't so heavy... -

Thank you SO MUCH for posting this!! I can only wear clip ons or screw backs, and while screw backs i prefer, there are many lovely clip ons, even modern ones I like to wear. I think skin color has something to do with it. I'm not at all pale, and I get pretty tan. I can't do a doll look by any means. But when I go red, the brows must go red too. Mind you, they are not cartoonish red. I dye them red and use my auburn brow colors from Smashbox to perfect them... -
