    30s/40s shirt ??

There's no end of info on here about what goes with what suit etc etc but can I ask what was typically worn by an ordinary Joe in the 30s/40s ? - say a guy who was usually to be found in a half belt leather jkt and 'bakerboy' cap ? Of course there's no definitive answer to my question but can...

What sort of flight jacket weather are you having these days..?

Chilly in Brum Birmingham, England - Winter - Wet - Cold - Depressing. Leave for work in the dark - return home in the dark. Wearing a G1 to work at present, the fur collar is comforting when I get into a cold car. Feels a little warmer than my A2. Colin

1930's Flat Caps - Where to Buy Them?

Harry Truman cross dressing !! whatever next ?? :offtopic: My condolences - losing a pet is never an easy experience. This is my second GSD, she's only 4 1/2, my first one died just before reaching 10 yrs with a splenic tumour. Still miss her - they're all unique personalities, just...

1930's Flat Caps - Where to Buy Them?

Salv, I ordered one of those but wasn't too happy with it - although I did keep it and I wear it occasionally. It doesn't look 'big' enough if you get what I mean -and yes it is the right size for me ! I might just order one of those Baker Boy 12 'Big 'Un' from Classic Cap Co. THANKS...

    How many is too many?

Only a dream but ............... My personal opinion is that if I had one of every jacket that Aero make then I would be a happy man !! ( of course I would need to have all the variations in hide type and colour too !! ) :D

    Aero HalfBelt and/or Highwayman?

YES IT DOES Just catching up on this thread.... yes indeed, the LHB ( as far as I'm aware ) has the bi-swing back as standard although I guess Aero will make one without it if requested. The extra movement available is very useful but certainly isn't excessive and doesn't in any way...

    Loungers' Pets

Fraulein Kara She has appeared elsewhere on the lounge but I unashamedly put up her mugshot once again for no other reason than that she's a cutie and I love her !! Happy new year to all fellow loungers and pet owners Colin

    Aero HalfBelt and/or Highwayman?

Thank you Yes, it is the standard aero brown hide. As I say, the pics really don't do it justice as the hide has an almost reddish tinge to it which you will be able to see way more clearly if you look at the pics of Salv's barnstormer. His photos have got the colour rendition just right...

    Aero HalfBelt and/or Highwayman?

PICS As promised, here are a couple of pics of the Aero LHB. I took the dog for our Xmas day walk and the temp is close to freezing but I was nice and warm in the LHB with just a shirt underneath. Sorry the pics aren't of the highest quality but just a simple camera was used so they're...

    Foyles War and flight jackets

CAN'T WAIT? - NOR I ! I agree totally Baggers - yes I know there are those who will say that the original is a classic etc etc but surely everyone should be glad that someone of Mr Jacksons abilities is on the job ? I hope he strives to make it historically accurate in all respects of...

Think you're man enough to handle a BarnStormer flyboy...? No wimps allowed!!

APPROVED !! Congrats on your aquisition MJCR - its a lovely example of Aeros quality and it looks good on you. You're right in saying it will take some breaking in - I bought a Long Half Belt earlier this year and that FQHH is one serious piece of hide !! Actually its beginning to soften...

    Aero HalfBelt and/or Highwayman?

Look at the LHB This piece of advice/info is spot on - I can't add to it other than to mention Aeros Long Half Belt which I think would be worth looking at. I say so because its really not that long in my view ( by comparison to the 'standard' half belt) and would look good on a taller...

    What about this one?

WEAR IT AND SMILE If we were to refrain from wearing any type or style of garment(s) which might conceivably be associated or connected with undesirable or unpleasant factions / persons / groups / events, then I fear our clothing options would become EXTREMELY limited !! I'd wear that...

    Willis & Geiger A2

Fellow loungers, does anyone have any experience of Willis & Geiger A2's at all ? In particular those of 1960 / 70 vintage ? What is their fit like ? If anyone has photos of themselves wearing one it would help a lot. Thanks in advance Colin

    BRITAIN'S LAST WITCH TRIAL (1944)

WITCHFINDER Interesting topic ! Actually it has made me recall a film called 'Witchfinder General' starring Vincent Price. The factual character he plays is one Matthew Hopkins, a self styled 'witchfinder'. www.imdb.com/title/tt0063285/ http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/A6358926

May be of use to y'all Here are some links to WW2 repro stuff in the UK - I've never purchased from them so cannot vouch for either the quality or the level of authenticity, however, they may be of use to someone ? http://www.warhorsetradingpost.com http://www.sofmilitary.co.uk The...

Trenchcoats, still a faux-pas for teens?

IGNORE IT !! It's my view that people who make facetious remarks about anothers attire are actually envious of the fact that YOU have the self confidence to dress that way - the way you want - and THEY do not !! They'd maybe like to step out from the herd themselves, they just don't have...

    WWII Crusher and Garrison Caps

I can only agree with everyone who has recommended the officers crusher offered by Eastman. I have one size 7 3/8 which has been worn only 2 or 3 times. I am looking to get rid of it ( a tad too small for me ) at a very reasonable price so if anyone interested then maybe you could PM me...
