    How 1950s Housewives Kept Slim.

That's very true, but there no reason why people cannot make time to do some other exersise these days like walking to shops more. it seams a little odd that they drive to shops then spend money and time at a gym, or just go for a walk at night.

    How 1950s Housewives Kept Slim.

One of the reason the dress size has increased is that the food we eat has changed a lot, food that we had as children were very much like treats ,i.e. ice cream was a great Sunday treat, we first had to find a shop open at tea time that was close enough to walk to buy it and get it home...

QUESTION: Popularity in FRANCE of 1930s-1940s vintage styles

I agree , it's a very difficult subject in Europe 1930 to 1950 , if I meet any one from Europe I would not talk about that period to them at all unless they brought it up first.

Is the powder room dying on it's feet.

I believe on a forum that the number of post you have made should not give you any more rights than say some one with 10 one forum I an one seams to have stopped recording post numbers. If some on makes 10 post and you never here of them again then that's fair enough people do come and go, If...

Is the powder room dying on it's feet.

Yes that sounds like a good description of Britsh forums, they sort of feel they can say anything which often they would not say to any one in public, like using a new found fredom of speech and it does not matter if they offend any one becuse it's the internet and it's not real.

Lace it up - The true Corset thread

Look around at the 50's corsets , these tend to be more period correct for the 20's than the victorian style which are the more talked about on this thread . http://www.personal-fashion-journal.info/collection.php?decade=1950 toward the bottom of the page
