Thanks for the confirmation Steve, and thanks to all for the comments. It's a decent enough inexpensive hat - if they made them with a little more crown height and less taper I'd consider buying one at full retail. -

Hi Lovecityhatters - it's what in the UK would be called a trilby, and in the US a stingy-brimmed fedora. It's got a centre-dent and from what I can make out either has a cavanagh edge or rolled edge. You could find a nice condition vintage one for not too much on ebay. -
