Report: Bowler hat from Lock & Co

I own Christy's bowlers, and having handled Lock & co current bowlers am 95% sure they're the same. In terms of boaters, again I own the Olney boater and in that case I'm 99% sure it's identical (and as far as I know Luton is about the only place in the UK where traditional straw hats are still...

" The Great British Hat Makers "

Hi Manfred - I don't know anything about the hat, but would date it at early 50's. The GA Dunn name was gradually replaced, by Dunn & Co in the 50's, and as the Sweat has one and the liner the other it's likely to be around then. I couldn't find any adverts for it, and haven't seen any other...

I think the initials were quite common across the hat wearing world - I've bought German and English hats that had them.

What Hat Are You Wearing Today 1?

TJones - I have absolutely no idea of the rules of your game, but with West Bromwich Albion losing 2-0 to Norwich of all teams on Saturday I understand your disappointment and frustration :) David - That Sahara is a real beauty. The beard's coming along nicely too :) Charlie - That's a...

Mike - it's wonderfully old-fashioned, and almost entirely ran by volunteers. They only ran a fairly short distance when I was a child, but they've managed to re-build a lot of the old line over the years.

Report: Bowler hat from Lock & Co

Multiple sources I think. Their bowlers look to be Christys, their boaters look to be Olney, and some of their caps appear to be Lawrence & Foster.
