I like the idea of a mid-width ribbon like that flagship. If you're going for a versatile everyday working man's hat I think 2 1/2" to 2 5/8" brim, with a ribbon that's only slightly darker than the felt, and probably a bound brim in the same colour. Crown height probably not too high 5-5 1/4"...
Steve I've never heard of Borchert, but that's a stunning hat. I take it the seller didn't happen o have an identical one in a 60/61? ;)
Lovely colour, great proportions and a nice ribbon.
David - great looking playboy, and if it's greener, even better :)
Baron - that's a hat with character and history.
Andy - nice looking cap
Perry - interesting crease and the brim looks good. How heavy is that felt?
Harv - nice Mallory.
TJones - I look forward to seeing that with a ribbon.
Alan...
Mike - as a guess I'd have said mid-late 50's but I'll be interested to hear what the Stetson experts say. Lovely felt, with a new sweat that'll be a great hat.
Harv - nice looking stingy
Justin - lovely fabric on that cap
Alan - excellent as ever
g.d. - a hat (and wearer) with real panache,
s-4-c Nice to see a pair of bowlers
A post of Ole's led me to this thread.
Any lesser knowm Italian makers people have come across?
Any experience with Carlo Sala (either their wool or fur-felt)?
