    What *Could* You Do Without?

It's a good thing they give you the large instruction (enjoy!), otherwise you wouldn't know what you were supposed to do with that... meal? snack?

If it was a hut in the jungle you were looking for I'd suggest changing your title to Colonel.

buildings? I'm living in a city that has too many ugly high rise buildings going up, with all the shadow and wind that goes with them.

    What *Could* You Do Without?

This big, hideous, plastic, dust-collecting desk hog I'm using right now. It's part glorified typewriter and part magazine shop and mail-order catalogue. It keeps me leashed to work when I'm at home, and it distracts me too easily from the other work I have to do. Just try submitting a...

    Malodorous Hat

I'm sure this has been covered, but when using naphtha do the liner, sweatband and ribbon have to be removed? If not, is there any risk of colour running off, say, the ribbon and onto the hat?

    My attitude is NOT free!

What a tangled weave we web. The way this thread has evolved. RE: Cow Tipping. I hung out with some cow tippers in high school. I never thought it was a particulalry nice thing to do. When it works, which isn't every time, the poor animal is terrified. Seems pointlessly nasty to me. On the...

    Just bought my first iron

Rule #1: Do not test iron for on-ness by licking it. Rule#2: Keep iron filled with water; steam does more than elbow grease. Rule# 3: Start with collar and yoke. Rule #4: You will never iron sleeves as well as your nearest laundry service can press them. Rule #5: Your hands will look more...

    My attitude is NOT free!

Do anti-percentages people tip the same in Denny's as in a higher quality restaurant - all things service-wise being equal? To me 20% of the pre-tax bill is the standard, higher for better service lower for poor. (And 20% is pretty easy to calculate: move the decimal one space to the left on...

    Liberty Heights

It is a good movie, and so is Avalon, both underated "personal" films by Barry Levinson who directed Diner and Tin Men. For nice looking period stuff he also directed The Natural and Bugsy. Why not have a Levinson film fest? Just try to avoid Toys.
