Sounds great! I had contemplated getting breeches, from What Price Glory, but don't have any experience with them. They have three different versions.
Cotton Khaki, for summer. Wool Elastique, officer "Pinks," and a wool enlisted version, that looks more like an OD green.
Thanks, Evan!
The boots are Dehner Fieldboots, in Tan Calfskin. I have one other pair. Three-buckle Dehner's, in black calfskin.
The jacket actually is tapered in the waist. To the point where Bookster says most people opt for the "comfort sized" waist, which can be +1 or 2". I don't think...
Try contacting Taylor's Leatherwear, in OK. The still make leather police jackets, and their print catalog used to be full of 1930-1940 police pictures. Not sure if their current catalog has the old B&W photos, or if they could send you in the right direction...
Don't know if this is accurate, or supposed to be a humorous version, but considering most pilots of the day, came from the cavalry...

I'd like to try it. Always had the farm raised type. Though we try to do goose for Christmas. And venison quite often.
If anyone has recipes for goose, and venison, send me a PM. I've been trying to find a copy of Nugent's game cook book. Still...
Cool! Any pictures of Norm's Shaving Bowl? I need a travel mug, to go with my travel brush. My regular shave bowl is stainless steel, and I use Haslinger soap that fits the bowl. So, I don't normally have problems like chasing the soap around. But, I do need a suitable travel mug.

Maybe not ancient warriors, but the Totenkopf goes back a way. Pre-1805 usage with the Prussian cavalry units.
My bad. I always thought the AN-J3 pre-dated the A-2. Since, it is essentially a Navy G-1, without the mouton collar. But it was supposed to be a replacement for the A-2.
This reminds me of the infamous, "Call me Senator," Boxer incident.
Where she dressed down an Army General, for calling her Ma'am. Not being familiar with the military, she didn't realize, that is how you address a superior, and she took offense.
Can't comment further here, for fear of it...
If you're talking about the third photo. The left pocket is not higher. There is some kind of name strip above the pocket that makes it look like it is sitting higher than the other pocket on the coat. In the second photo. The jackets with the button pocket, and zipper, are I believe, an ANJ-3...
My experience is that they are sized to allow for shrinkage. Larger than their stated size, so they shrink to their listed size.
I don't see any problem taking them in, from 30 to 28. They just recommended not letting them out.
When trying on your khakis for the first time, we recommend sizing them up loosely for the best fit. Repeated washing and drying can result in shrinkage beyond 1% to 3%. Should that occur, simply hang your khakis dry. Length and fullness will come back. To limit wrinkles without ironing, simply...
