Well the day finally arrived....the saddest day of the year...
the day I had to put my felts away until the fall.
Today it's my 6" brimmed Gus Straw Sunbody. The sun is beating down, and the humidity is 85%. And I've got 75 bags of mulch to unload and distribute around the property.
during most months, my daily, non work wear has narrowed down to two hats...both Stetson Open Roads. One natural and one silverbelly.
On very cold days I opt for a Rand 100% that is similar to the Open Road, but with a slightly wider brim and slightly taller crown. It's a head warmer and can...
West Side Story. went to see it in the cinema last weekend. We were the only people there at 2p on a Sunday afternoon.
It was fantastic in every way... Acting, direction, editing, costumes, writing, choreography, singing, set design... I'd consider it to be the best film of 2021 and worthy...
yes...back to the masks...I find a bandana over a good medical mask just looks better and does the trick. Top if off with a 100% beaver Rand that fits like I was born in it and I'm good to go...

And, re: the outlet store questions in a couple of posts...we were at the Garland store...
I abandoned wool felt hats in the 80's after getting caught in a heavy downpour in my favorite fedora. It dried several sizes smaller to a child size. So it's been fur felt ever since.

Many years ago I was visiting my uncle, a rancher who lived on the Blanco River in the Texas hill country SW of Austin. I wore some new boots, hoping a weekend in the country would help break them in.
When my uncle noticed my...
It should be realized that Stetson, just like Fender does with guitars, makes a variety of hats in price ranges from cheap to expensive. You can buy a Stratocaster for $149.99 all the way up to $5 grand...and that's not counting vintage. Same with hats. You can get a cheap wool hat or a high...
a 3 day warm front blew in and temps rose into the 80's today. Still, I went with the Open Road/natural.
Daytime temp should be 30 degrees cooler by Thursday.
