Thanks guys! She'll be happy to know how much everyone digs the jacket. She definitely put in some work sorting through my notes and pictures figuring everything out. She even had to sign up for a proxy shipping service that I had saved. I really do appreciate all she's done.
Butte- we didn't...
Here are the pictures without a tucked shirt, which is what the jacket will more often than not be worn with. Sorry the light isn't too great, we lost powerful a bit and that's the best that the flash have us.
Looking at the photos, instead of in a mirror, it's not as bad as I originally...
I'm glad to hear you're still happy with your jacket. It's a real looker and an obvious testament to Steve's skill. I also have some gorilla arms for my height, it just didn't get passed on to my torso. I was briefly up to 210 in March, but after cutting out the beer and processed foods for a...
Also, I'll try to get some pictures up of me wearing it with a light sweater or a t shirt. I will most likely be wearing a light sweater during jacket wearing months anyway. It may look less long without a tucked in shirt.

I'm still hoping with some wear I'll begin seeing it the same way. I have a couple months before I will be able to start doing that though. I'll use the time being to line out my contingencies.
Thor, it was actually your thread on Steve S's build that inspired me to first contact him and that...
The knits on this jacket are 3.5", I think I will ask John Chapman if he has come across any G-1s or it's predecessors that had knit sections that were under 3" in length and how they looked and also ask him what he thinks about shortening that section up. If I feel okay about it after talking...
I was hoping to hear your input on this Butte. You've always had good advice when it comes to flight jackets and I will definitely take what you've said into consideration. Do you think shortening the jacket is a viable option as Nick suggested?
It was a very kind gift and I totally hear what...
I'm thinking they may have meant that the style of jacket had longer waist ribbing than previous flight jackets.
But based off of pictures of A-2s I've seen online, I believe that RMJ may make most of their flight jackets longer than what is typical.

Thanks for all the very supportive words gentlemen. It does make me feel better about the situation. When it cools down enough that I will actually be able to wear it, I think I will give it an actual chance before deciding to move it on.
Thank you, it's been an awesome experience so far. The...
Hey Guys,
I was hoping to get some opinions on the fit of my Real McCoys 55J14 that my wife got me for my first Father's Day. She knew I've been wanting a G-1 for awhile now and she went digging through my jacket folders on my laptop to pick one for me. She went big on this one.
I had...
Alain Delon. I like him more than Bradley Cooper, but I would never say he is or was more famous. He was in some good movies though.

No problem. And yeah, it's pretty slim fitting. I have my black in a large, but if would have picked up a navy one I may have sized up to an XL. The forearms are very snug if I'm wearing a thin sweater underneath.

I actually really like the reddish hues in the hide. It's something I am going to specifically look for when it comes time for me to get my first A-2.
When the time comes to replace the knits on this jacket, you should consider some olive replacements. That hide would make the olive knits pop...
That's a real sharp looking jacket right there.
I'm sure it wasn't what you were going for, but I think that hide would look great if Steve did the same overdye treatment he does to make his russet goat into his seal goat and then used his alcohol/distilled wipe down to give it a vintaged...
Excellent choice in jacket and options. I didn't know it at the time, but what I really wanted the last time I had a custom jacket made was a Premier Highwayman in Black Vicenza, but the last time I ordered a custom jacket neither of those were options. I have a deep case of the envies right...
I think softer, finer suedes with shallow nappiness to them definitely look best when new and crisp, but thicker suedes with deeper nappiness tend to look good with some wear to them.

I'm still pretty sure it's a girl wearing a man's jacket. I'm confident enough that I'd be willing to check myself... If I wasn't married... And if she let me.
