I've got the Tivo already set to record the first episode, but really? "Sing, Sing, Sing"?
I hope that recording is only heard in the preview and not in the series itself.
Thanks for the info. Odd, given that they're nearly identical hats, that the Rink is offered in so many more large sizes. I'd likely be replacing the ribbon, anyway, so the difference there doesn't bother me.
I wonder if perhaps I could convince them to special order a Rink in Natural. Seems...
Can someone explain to me the practical difference between the Capricorn and the Rink? And are the colors Cream and Natural similar, or is Cream closer to White?
(I seem not to be able to edit that post, though it's less than a minute old as I type this.)
I was going to add that a) those pants are so far from fitting me in the waist that it's a bit depressing and b) I like Style-Mart as a brand enough that a fun (in my opinion, at least) Style-Mart...
Thanks. I'm not crazy about the idea of a cloth band; I have one in my Sunbody and I perspire right through it, staining the hat itself and rendering the ribbon unsightly and in need of annual (at a minimum) replacement.
But I'll see if they can possibly manage to come up with a 63.
In 1992, while traveling the length of Route 66, I stopped for lunch at the U Drop Inn, which was housed in the same building as that gas station (I don't know if the cafe is still in operation or not).
I had chicken fried steak, and it was darned tasty.
I too prefer the first one. If your husband likes to go with a vintage look, I think it's definitely your best best. If he doesn't, the second one is less obviously vintage, to my eyes, and that may be a good thing for him.
I like my Sunbody, but it's not good for those who perspire heavily. I get sweat stains on the dark blue ribbon I had put on mine; I'm lucky if the ribbon lasts a summer, and at that I'm having to constantly clean the ribbon.
I recently purchased a great 1940s (perhaps late '30s) blue pinstripe suit for $18 on eBay. Alterations ran me $50 or $60, which still left me with a terrific bargain, but alas there was one small but visible (the size of a ladybug) hole in the back of the right sleeve. I don't know nuthin'...
Most folks here would consider 2 1/4" closer to stingy-brimmed than an umbrella, but I'm glad you like your new hat.
STP doesn't seem to offer any sizing on that hat, though (one size fits most? In which universe?); were you able to order a specific size?
Yes, chain links are my favorite type. And with chain links, I can usually put them in before putting the shirt on -- I can squeeze my hand through the end of the sleeve.
The truth is, women have played de facto combat roles for years, but have gone unrecognized. It's time that was rectified.
From a story in today's New York Times:
But because of outmoded Pentagon bureaucratic regulations, the military failed to reform its personnel assignment policies, even...
I have just one pair of vintage snap cufflinks, and while I love the idea, I have trouble squeezing in two layers of fabric. It's hard to get the cufflinks through the holes in the folded-back sleeves. If the two halves of the cufflinks were just a bit longer, they'd be great. I wonder if I just...
