Well I will concede on this one! Can't argue with the facts! My choice was bolstered by that clover insignia which I was sure would prove to be a Short Bros. corporate logo of sorts. I guess I can quit searching for that now! Good work UP! :eusa_clap

I'm throwing my bet in with the Short S.8 "Calcutta" which can be researched (with photo) here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Short_S.8_Calcutta I'll bet it's a visiting aircraft being hailed by the Yanks at Pearl!
Notice the PN-12 does NOT have a center engine mounted behind the cockpit...
Well, methinks I spoke too soon!:eusa_doh: I see that the engines are completely different on the above aircraft than the H-16 below. I'll continue my research and see what I can find! Very curious!

That's the Curtis H-16 operated by the Coast Guard. Hope that helps!
Patrol Squadron FOUR has a long and distinguished history dating back to
pre-World War II. The first squadron designated Patrol Squadron FOUR
(VP-4) was established in 1928 and was based in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii...
Well after all is said and done, it looks like Beth and her boyfriend
will fit in around here just nicely.
I'm willing to concede; they make a handsome couple and grace
our Lounge with class and distinction. :eusa_clap

Thanks KCD, A NWA pilot I just spoke to suggested it might be a thing called a "Grimes Light" - although those would usually be inside, not outside. Anybody want to comment on that possibility? I'd say some sort of camera is more likely myself, although I've not seen one that looks like that...
By the way...
...anybody know what that silver camera/siren looking device is on Ethell's canopy? I can't figure out what it might be. Not a Venturi Tube. Not a fluid cooler. Any other idea? [huh]

Already done! She and I are now MySpace friends. First comes Love, then comes Marriage, then comes..... whoa!...now I'm getting ahead of myself! :eusa_doh: This girl seems to be powerfully seductive, men! We had better stick together and watch out for one another before one of us falls...
The late Jeffrey Ethell, who's father piloted 'Tangerine' in the ETO. Photos the last of
Jeff before he bought the farm in this aircraft in Tillamook, OR. A tragic loss of man and machine.

No. Not since I went insane. Now life is beautiful all the time and I'm happy to see those nice young men
in their clean, white coats from the happy home with trees and flowers and chirping birds, and basket
weavers who sit and smile and twiddle their thumbs and toes....

I thought I should add, since we're getting so maudlin, that for a period of time the songs contained on Neil Diamond's 'Stones' and 'Moods' LP's (This is before he became Elvis II and then lost his voice!) Neil's version of "If You Go Away" is particularly tender and sentimental. I've just...
Parson 6922. That's Ringo's Liverpool telephone number from the early 60's!
I can hardly remember my own phone number, but I somehow can't forget this one!
