If it isn't fully funded yet you can cancel w/out issue. Otherwise, you're locked in. It's worth noting that, after comparing the measurements, these will definitely fit much different from anything you ordered w/ Gustin - especially in the cuff.
I remember this jacket! What a beauty! This was infinitum's right?
Someone needs to grab this. As an FYI to those on the fence, I think Alan is having trouble sourcing this leather now so jump on it while you can. If it were a smaller size I would probably have already grabbed it.
Does your waist measure out at 32" on a tape measure or is that your typical pant size? That is a serious drop from chest to waist if that's actual measurement.
Good question. I'm honestly not sure if it's curved as a stock cut, and I can't really tell in my pics. I wasn't planning to have them curve it if that's what you're asking. The back panel just seems to stop higher on my body (I assume it's designed as such) and I'm thinking I'd like the look...
Thanks again everyone for all the feedback. Based on your experiences I'm leaning towards the following
Assuming losing the quilted liner would free up 1/2" I'm starting to think the following adjustments
+1.5" in body length (or 1" in the front and 1.5" in the back)
+1" in chest
+1.25"...
Wow! That seems like a lot but it's helpful input. 3" is more than a full size up! It sounds like it didn't initially fit snug. If you don't mind my asking, did you gain weight/muscle? Would you mind sharing any details on the initial fit and subsequent shifts in your weight? I think I saw an...
I don't disagree that the Dalton's are the dressier of those I noted but, imho, not so much so that they can't be worn with dark jeans.
Bucket- another option worth looking at is trickers - maybe something like the Stow or Malton
Something from Alden on the barrie last with a commando sole - maybe suede if you really want to make it casual. You may be able to get away with an AE Dalton with a toppy. And if you're flexible on the wingtip and would consider a cap toe you have a ton of options (Wolverine, RW IR, Truman, etc)
Based on what Alan says he can get in brown, it's looking like 3oz steer or 2.5-2.75oz HH. He's got a 3.5oz steer that I like the weight of better than the 3oz steer but it's got a pebble grain finish to it that I'm not wild about.
I'm with you monitor. I'm looking for a body fit closer to the one in the pic you posted. Maybe slightly more fitted, but certainly closer to that than my 1st pic.
Assuming losing the quilted liner would free up 1/2" I'm starting to think the following adjustments
+1.5" in body length
+.5" in chest
+1" in bottom (I know the pics don't show it well but the stomach is pretty taught. If I raise my arms and it rides up, its taught enough to stay there when I...
Thanks guys.
I thought about sizing up but I don't think I want extra space in the shoulders and I believe Alan said it was 2-2 1/2" in the chest. That seems like it would be too much, no? Especially if I choose to go with a simple liner instead of the quilted on. That said, I do want something...
Thanks. I'm assuming you're referring to the creasing in the first front pic at the top of my chest - about level with the pocket? If so, that would be interesting b/c I was assuming that was due to the snugness in the chest.
The other wild card here is that the test jacket has a quilted liner and I am probably going to go with a plain cotton drill which should impact the fit. Alan is going to show these same pics to his head tailor and pattern maker early next wk (they are on vaca at the moment) and get their...
Thanks Superfluous & Seb
I generally agree. Any risk of inhibiting my range of motion if I opted to trim the shoulders a bit? My other concern on that is that any change I'd make would probably be so minor it would be w/in the acceptable mfg error range (i have this same thought about the...
Almost forgot - for those interested, my intended stylistic changes are as follows:
Inside pocket on inside left w/ snap
No chest pocket
Button cuffs
Nickel/Silver hardware
No wind-flap
Brown leather (HH or Steer -TBD)
Thanks again
