Armagnac-- a most lovely liqueur. I was given a bottle for my wedding, in a wooden box. Friends carried it on train and bus from Paris to Krakow and thence into the villages. I carried it back (but on a plane so it doesn't count) from Poland to Berkeley. It took years to drink it.
Surely small amounts of fine cheese, alongside red wine to cut the fat, apples to aid digestion, and crusty bread, when combined with plenty of exercise, can be occasionally indulged in even by those with some cholesterol issues.
I like the St Marcellin too, a whole lot!
