Can't remember if I posted these ones from Apocalypse Now
My favourite: Chef: "Never get out of the boat"
and, Kurtz: "You're an errand boy, sent by grocery clerks, to collect a bill."
Couldn't agree more about public education...not a fan of 'private' schools.
I taught at an all-boys high school. We had a uniform, etc. but it was public and free...no tuition, no entrance exam. We viewed it as our job to educate every single boy who walked through the door...gifted...
When I was young all men wore hats, primarily fedoras. I always loved the look. But kids didn't wear fedoras. By the time I was old enough to don a fedora the sixties were in full swing...a fedora really wouldn't have looked too good with the long hair and jeans I was wearing by then. Times...
Absolutely. I avoid anything with a visible logo...I've even been known to unstitch embroidered logos in order to remove them. My wife thinks I'm a tad crazy, but she agrees with my "no advertising" mindset.

I suspect we're not alone, esteban. I haven't touched a tube of paint for a few years now...maybe I've stopped glowing in the dark. They finally suggested that cadmium and cobalt based colours may not be healthy...just like lead white! But they're beautiful yellows and blues! And...
I saw houses fully decorated for Halloween...in September. I started seeing houses fully decorated for Christmas...last week. A local FM station, very popular with businesses for their phones and PA systems, started playing solely Christmas music last week. It starting to look like every...
I was going to comment that I was really grateful that Hell on Wheels was interesting...because The Walking Dead put me to sleep. Something of a disappointment. The Walking Dead is really inconsistent.
Thanks for your answers about pewter. I doubt I'll actually use the pewter tea pot, although after so many years of painting using cadmium and cobalt based colours, I doubt a little lead would do much...heck, it might help!
