Indeed, Torp. It was the lack of binding that lead me to think that the brim had been altered. I have yet to see or hear of a factory Whippet without binding regardless of brim size.

Mostly we see hats after a good brushing. The best thing about this photo is that the hat is in need of a good brushing. A real work horse. :eusa_clap

You folks with head sizes less than 7 1/4 are just killing me!
The good news is that even in 7 1/4 good condition or better vintage lids can be had for relatively less in today's money than what folks were forking out for them brand new back in the day.
