I must say that I don't recall a season where so many designers/brands/shops were offering bow ties. And many, if not most, for the first time. I"m curious to see how many see any action.
Yes, you do see a lot of that attitude today. Misdirected anger. An important part of correcting mistakes is to acknowlege them. Something that appears to be lost on some folks these days.

I'd have to see the jacket fabric before recomending flannel as it doesn't work well with a lot of worsteds, particulary those with a hard finish. Texture is just as important as color in this matching business. ;)
The horizontal bottom button serves to "lock" the placket thereby assuring that any pattern stays matched.
Horizontal button holes require exacting placement of button and hole which is probably why most shirtmakers eschew them.
That would depend on ones definition of value I suppose. For me it begins with a quality product and those boots are not that. They are a waste of money at any price, IMO. By paitently working the sales, eBay and such you can find much higher quality for just a little more money.
I don't recall any. But I do know of a few members, in good standing , who have changed their FL moniker, for various reasons.

Nope, simply refuting your erroneous assertion with photographic evidence to the contrary. ;) As has been mentioned, it's one thing to have personal preferences (we all have them) but quite another to rewrite history in support of them.
