I've been watching The States on the History Channel. When Arizona was covered, they mentioned NASA using the area around the crater as training grounds for astronauts going to the moon. The show also mentioned a possible future moon landing in, I think they said, 2020.
I did some looking...
Crumpets and tea, anyone?
Well Chuck, it looks like I'm off to Merry Old England for some hot cross buns and tea in between bombing runs. Maybe I'll pick up a Slough Citroen SM while I'm there. lol

1987 Whittier Narrows Earthquake - I was in bed. I grabbed the alarm clock and the radio (each on opposite sides of the bed), then looked up and saw the 20X24 glass photo frame above my head and wondered on which bedpost I'd put my priorities the night before.

And Now for something Completely Different.
Some very good writing here. A thank you to all for the compliments, and to thunder21 for starting this thread. I'm posting old stories, but am being inspired to write something new. :)

A few of the approximately eighteen shorts I've written about Zeke (40) and Fred (44), a couple country bumpkin brothers who will have some rather unusual stories to tell their grandchildren . . . if they live long enough. Elsie (36) is Zeke's sweetie.

Busy, good, and "OH MY!"
Well, work was busy - VERY busy! That's a good thing. :)
Found out my barber, Ron, is getting into a new shop very close to his current one.
Saw about twenty police cars in the street at about ten-thirty last night: turns out the neighbor I'd ranted about in this...
You all remember my post regarding my barber, Ron. I got a message from him yesterday telling me that he'll be in a new shop on September 18. It's about a block west of his present location and across the street, next to a 7-11.
Let's see now . . . he's currently about fifteen miles from my...
My younger sister, who lives in Canada, has saved a couple squirrels from harm. I don't know the full story, but I do know that she has at least two of them as in-house pets. She says they're cute and funny, and they've never given her any trouble. :)

I'm a bilingual illiterate. That means I can't read or write in two languages. :D
But, I should have let that "pan" out a bit to include its Spanish counterpart, which is very similar: pan.

How about photographing it? With today's digital cameras, get the lighting right (two sources, one on each side for even lighting) and the pictures will produce very usable reproductions.

When I was in elementary school, I started learning the piano. When I was in junior high school, my parents bought a Thomas Electronic organ. I practiced on both to the tempo of this Seth Thomas metronome. I no longer play any musical instruments, but the lessons taught me an appreciation for...
We've seen typewriters and office furniture, now it's time to show us the vintage office supplies that compliment them. These are my staplers.
A similar stapler in this thread possibly dates my first one to the thirties. Look at the design of the bases. Both are Swinglines.
Note the...
