I stopped in to Peter Brothers a few years back while attending a training event in Fort Worth, and they were quite confident about being able to make either a hemp or felt hat to fit me properly. They actually brought out a few of the blocks to show me... -

Try 8 1/4. Interesting that I haven't checked the forum for several months, and spotted this new post. I was just about to spend an hour or so steaming/stretching/cleaning my stable of 64 cm Campdraft's to get them to fit better. Vintage will never happen here. Shout out to my brother big... -

Nice Hat Block Making Video...
Enjoyed the video and their site. They quoted me $190 USD with shipping for a Model CB194 block (tall and straight) in Size 8 long oval. Might be nice to have for some at-home re-blocking sessions. Might also be possible to send it out some custom hatters who don't have access to large size... -

Exactly. Somehow I just can't consider a ball cap to be a real hat. Regardless of the type, I'm sure his hair will take a beating when the hat is removed. May not be pretty. -

Who has the lowest price on Akubra Campdrafts (FOB USA) these days?
I wouldn't trust the availability from them. Still showing the CD available in black. They also had the Boss of the Plains listed until a few weeks ago. Doesn't seem that Steve updates the page on a regular basis. -
