JoeyC, the one of yours on the right is even more like a homburg than mine. When you snap the front of the brim down, does the binding want to stay snapped up? Both of your new hats look nice.

Nice hat Nyah, no, the brim will stay down. Given that these are somewhat stiff they need a little coaxing. I asked Shane to just center crease the second one as I want to do a bit of shaping myself.

Since this is a Peters Bros. thread, here's 2 Indies. image.jpg

They are several years old, the one on the left is a blend, I have it in black as well, the right is 100% beaver.

Finally got some good light the other day to photograph the new Milan Strat clone I received from Peters Bros last week. As it's black, with a dark green ribbon, the colors are pretty hard to get right. These photos are the best I could do. It looks better in person.

My first custom hat. Shane took my order when I was in Ft. Worth in January. With the combination of head measuring and checking it against the hat I was wearing on a sizer, they got my size dead on. It fits great. I asked him to make it 6" open crown, so there is some height to the crown. It's 5 14" at the front peak, and 5 1/2" on the sides. I do believe I want to work the back down about 1/2" to give it a rake, though. And probably tighten the front pinch. It's pretty stiff, but light and airy. It's going to be a great summer lid - cool and breezy.

So hats off to Peters Bros. They did a fantastic job and they give great service.

Fruno, after seeing yours, I got on the phone this afternoon and ordered an OR/Shady Oak in natural-colored hemp milan, 2 7/8"brim, with a black ribbon. They tell me I should have it by the end of April. Can't wait.

are they making it for you or you just ordered one ?

if they are making it how did they determine your size ?

I think I am going to order today
