    Indy shoes

Judging by the old-style logo inside, that looks like an older shoe. It may not be available anymore.

Thanks for the kind words, VS. Every man who cares about clothes should be on a quest for the perfect suit!

    Apparel Arts March 1942

I saw that one when it was originally auctioned and thought about bidding. I was a bit surprised it didn't go for more, but my guess is that later issues from the '40s don't command as high a premium as the ones from the '30s.

    First Time Bowtie Advice

Good job, Lionheart. I like the tie, and I like the pocket square, but together I think they look like they're competing for attention. If I were you, I'd go with a white linen square for that outfit, or a solid silk in one of the minor colors from the tie (or shirt).

    What are you wearing today??

    Ascots

True. However, the illustration shows the steps for tying a necktie. The process of tying what we call a cravat may be the same, but that's not what the illustration is showing.

    Ascots

In case it needs spelling out, cravate is the French word for necktie.

    New vintage collars

Members at other forums have used Jantzen a lot, and the consensus seems to be that they provide incredible value for the money, though they can be a bit difficult to deal with sometimes. Lost orders, poor communications, and enormous wait times have not been uncommon, although Jantzen seems to...

    Steppin' out...

Thanks, all. It was the most fun I've had in a while. DM, the shirt is a vintage one that I picked up on Ebay. New ones were just too expensive for my budget. The collar is the Grafton from Ede & Ravenscroft.

    Steppin' out...

...in my top hat, and my white tie, and my tails... Yesterday I was an attendant in the wedding of a friend, and to my delight we wore white tie. I found a '60s vintage Hickey-Freeman dress suit in a local vintage store, and cobbled together the rest of the outfit via Ebay and other various...

    Stretching a topper?

Strangely enough, despite the way it looks, it isn't collapsible. It's a true hard-shell hat.
