    Show us your vintage patterns!

These are a few of the patterns I have, though not all. My son won't fit in this for years, but I'm going to make it and have it hanging in the wardrobe for when he's older. I'm going to make the sheath for my wife, but I have to grade the pattern down first. I've already started...

    Your fashion accessory weakness???

I have two, one with a gold rim and black cord, and a rimless one. I have only seen two other people wearing one, a gent I saw at a petrol station and an employee at the British Library.

    Whisker Wars!!

As you can imagine, I prefer facial hair: I haven't been clean shaven since I was 14, and had a beard until January, when I decided to let the 'tache go solo. I don't curl it every day anymore, I wear it in a 'Hungarian' style more often these days:

    Just a few general questions.

I wear spats, more often in the fall and winter but I have a lightweight pair as well.

    Detachable cuffs?

I would say those do use links and are closed in the usual manner, they've just been curled more than necessary. Here's the same shape, but linked: http://www.etsy.com/listing/71486939/1-1920s-detachable-cuff-tanzigzag

    Just a few general questions.

The most important thing is fit of the suit. If you're just starting, look for a suit that fits rather than one that looks perfectly 1930s. If you find one from the 30s that fits right away, well done! Wearing a shirt with a long point collar and a wide tie with a small knot (rather than a...

    Detachable cuffs?

Are you sure they aren't just single link cuffs? Sproily has a shirt with detachable cuffs, he may be able to advise on the size of the cuff band.

    Flared Breeches Pattern?

Welcome to the Lounge! Over here at least they're called jodhpurs. I did see a pattern draft online once of a pair someone deconstructed. I'll have a look and see if I can dig it up again.

    What are you wearing today??

As the owner and cultivator of a large moustache myself, I believe a lack of a 'tache is better than a fake one. Edward, well played, and I really like the shoes and boater.

Length tended to be shorter than today, still covering but not as much. (I should add, the basis of comparison I'm using is the suits I see out and about, which are very long I think.)

    Single breasted peak lapel

I would suspect the 'tails' are folds in his trousers, which don't fit great. One interesting thing, though, is that the front button is a link button. I've seen it a few times on suits, though it's more common on cutaways.

1931 Suit to Covet - Dracula.

I'm going to take some stills of this suit and bring them to the tailor when I finally have a suit made for me (in about a year, most likely).

I want this house so badly, it isn't funny!

That is a very fine house. My tastes run a bit smaller/older though: http://www.holderbros.com/project/details/15-Sixteenth-Century-English-Cottage With a 2-story garage with an upstairs woodworking shop and a stone forge...sigh...

FS: 3 piece suit, mens and womens shoes, shirt collars

I've been cleaning out some things that no longer (or never!) fit me, and so is my wife. Right now I've got up some things on eBay: A Dunn & Co 3-piece suit, light summer-weight. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320724774634&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT Mens captoe...

The double stripe on the pocket facings are probably the inner edge of the selvedge, the facings were most likely cut from scraps near the edge.

What does a Vintage Baby Girl & Nursery need?

Congrats! We put our boy in real nappies (diapers), not pre-folded cloth ones, actuall terry towel squares we fold by hand every time. The squares were bought new, and there are flushable liners avaliable, as well as plastic covers (not vintage, but they work better than fabric covers)...
