If I only had a smaller head... There have been quite a few decent hats out there on eBay recently, and only me super-size noggin has kept me from bidding.
I'm a 7 3/8 UK - I think that is about a 7 1/2 US. I can just about squeeze a 7 3/8 US on me head.
Hello!
Is there any way to date a Stetson (no puns please like "give it flowers :p ) by it's hatbox?
For example - the box on the auctions below:

Those are some swell looking boots...
The salesman was giving out about the fact that several of the big RTW shoe names have been bought out and their products have slipped. Apparently this crowd (Trickers) is still privately owned. He did say that there is a Trickers Int'l, but they parted...
Update on an old post...
I picked up a pair of Tricker's shoes (www.trickers.com) last weekend. The wife and I were walking along Jermyn Street just window shopping, when she suggested that I duck in to Tricker's to find out exactly what size I am...
I had no intention of buying anything...
I was checking the Swaine, Adeney and Briggs web page to see what their hours are, when I was redirected to their new site.
Out of curiosity I had a gander at the hat section, when I came across this blurb about the Indy fedora...
Thanks for the info. I was looking for something "classic", but I didn't want to go the aviator route 'cos they don't look good on me. I did have a pair of black Wayfarers, but in my mind they'll forever be associated with the eighties!
I've just bid on a pair of tortoise-shell Wayfarer II...
Ray-Ban "Clubmasters"?
Does anyone know anything about Ray-Ban "Clubmaster" shades? They are somewhat more stylish looking than the Wayfarers. Any idea when Ray-Ban introduced them? They look rather retro...
He wore a fedora to the Willie Wonka premier as well... Pretty cool shades as well:

... a few more questions re. Bogey-esque lids
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction! A few more questions, if I may...
I noticed that from the front, the Optimo and Keppler hats are very similar to the one Bogart wears. However, can you get the same "crumpled" type look at the...
Is there a significant difference in the construction of Borsalinos made in the '50s as opposed to the 40s? Is the felt the same? Is the crown as high?
Has anyone ever replaced the thin ribbon, like that found on some of the Stetson and Borsalino models, with a wider one?
There are a few Stetsons that I've seen on the web that are in decent shape, 'cept that they have those thin ribbons...
Greetings all,
I came across some leather luggage on ebay and was curious to know if anyone was familiar with the brand, and perhaps how old it might be:

I did ask the seller the same, but...
Deckard's shirt is certainly interesting.
I have a shirt just like this, but it isn't from the future - it is from Romania. Never did I realise that I was sporting something futuristic...
Ha - that is exactly what happened to me!
I have also noticed that a lot of the hats being made today aren't tall enough.
My two HJ fedoras, although nice hats compared to some of the ones out there, are not as tall as I liked. I was in the shop in town that sells HJ hats and I tried on...
Ah - good point. I did some searching (handy function, that search) on the site and I came across the bit on MK's Optimo Bogart lid... Very cool - that looks the way to go.
Cheers!
Greetings all...
Does anyone know anything about this hat, the Dobbs | Fifth Ave NY - "Dayton / Bogart"?

Is it "ok" as a Bogey-style replica?
