A rerun of Poirot in The Theft of the Royal Ruby. The sets and costumes were excellent and it takes place around Christmas. While it is not a Christmas special it does sort of put me in the Christmas spirit.
I got the Fed IV in the Tawny too and love it. It has been through several good rain storms and we got some cold weather this week and it has done great. Enjoy the hat and welcome to the Lounge.

I agree too about not a clinker in the bunch.I have a Fed IV which i was able to shape nicely and also an Adventurer that I am still working on getting the crown taper out to more of a straight crown. Both are the Imperial felt quality.

Luckie, I am not sure where Belton is, but there is a hat shop in Charlotte called Alexanders on East Indepence. They do repairs and reblocking. Hope this helps.

Yeah, you had the Ford Fedora. I found the same thing when I got mine. I was expecting a sorta Indy look but got an Outback look. I still have my C Crown and for some sentimental reasons I think I always will. On a side note I decided to practice brim trimming on the Ford and found that there is...
Are you sure you did not get the Jazon Ford Fedora. That one has a larger brim and looks like an Austrailian Outback. The C-crown is a good inexpensive starter hat. I have had both the Jaxon C-crown and the Ford Fedora. Also as others have stated, they ate wool and will not take a lot of weather...
I can tell you that when I started out 21 years ago I was issued a k frame revolver, a double speed loader pouch (we had to purchase our own speed loaders), handcuff case, radio, a large flashlight holder, and a wooden baton. Now I have OC spray, semi auto, small flashlight, hand cuffs, radio...
If you are referring to that piece of metal under the hammer, that would have been the spring. or the part behind the cylinder and above the trigger would have been for the loading gate.
I agree with you. It is hard to tell with all the rust, but that "birdshead grip" does remind me of the Webleys. Maybe a Number 2 Bulldog pattern. They had a short 2-3" barrel designed as pocket cary weapons. They were chambered in .320, .380, .450,.455, and .476.

DJH, those are nice too. I really like that Bluegrass Whippet. I am now in the stage of my hat wearing where I am only getting the fur felts. I still have a bunch of the wool felts that I am giving out to others that are just getting started in hat wearing. So far I have two Akubras and a...
Barney was well kown in upstate SC and had just start to gain some national attention thanks to the History Channels program "Dixie". The ironic thing was that Barney was born in California and then ended up in SC. but yes that is a rustic looking hat. sorry did not mean to go off topic.
