Slightly off topic but humorous...

Hiy'all, started out to wear my Smithbilt Futura Western today and it seemed that the stains on it were at the intolerable level...
Gave it the naptha bath and left it out on the seat of my fishing boat (aluminium so no danger) on a rest. Hour or...

Between that one and the amazing blue you had the other day I take my hat (Akubra Stockman) off to you;)
Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves
Just threw the DVD in to watch, it's one I like to rewatch every now and then becasue it is an "enjoyment".
One of my favourite movie lines is delivered by Christian Slater just after he has launched Kevin and Morgan over the castle wall :eusa_clap "F*** me...
New Akubra
As I am seemingly the only hat obsessed person in this shopping area the only real hat supply store here let me down into the dark lair of their basement yesterday.
I found an unusual old Akubra that I have not been able to find any mention of anywhere at all.
Anyone here know...
Whew!!!
Got some work to do here at home so will be wearing the reclaimed Smithbilt western and when I head to the city later will switch to the stretched Akubra Stockman.
All I can say about the postings over the last few days is "Whew!!!", every one's a winner! To start and individually...
and for evening wear...
for relaxing this evening I am wearing a sideways stripe left by the sweat band around my head:eusa_doh: :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_doh:
Success!!!
:eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :D
After stretching it from a 57 to a 59 and a little reshaping and tuning I finally got to wear the old Akubra Stockman of my dad's that I have coveted for decades :D
Scooter
p.s. I apologize for no pics but I am working on that as well

another success(so far)
Took my old Smithbilt 10 Gallon cowboy, only worn for skiing in the 70s when they were in style for that, and with steam got the almost unbashed crown down from 6" to 4.5" and into a teardrop. To take up all that felt I almost have a porkpie and, when it is absolutely...
Thanks to all :)
Thanks for all the input.
Just resized the Akubra steaming and stretching a bit, repeat. Last time I stuffed the sweat band as I do to make a hat a bit smaller and rammed it onto my noggin.
Now without the stuffing isits about right :eusa_clap
Thinking about how exactly to...
How very backhanded, that compliment LOL
I'm actually watching probably Bogie's most absurd movies right now: Beat the Devil.
Peter Lorre and all that slightly offbeat bunch lol
Help!
Hiy'all,
I have a hat that I have to stretch and another that I would like to soften so if anyone could point me to or send me step by step instructions I would be eternally grateful. Have found some things but I think that the more I study the better my chance for success :o
Ditto
A really great look. Change the cap to a shaped felt black and add a heavy plaid jacket you will pretty much have my outfit for the day.
Temperature is in the mid-twenties F and I am putting up my christmas lights today :eusa_clap :D
Uhuh... !?
I am going to have to get brave and learn how to crease my western like that. It's not as nice a hat as that by any stretch and really needs softening but that crease would make it much more enjoyable for sure.
I love the band on that one but the croen on mine is so high I think...
Looks like pretty much what I want to do with this Smithbilt with the 6" crown on it. This isn't a soft hat though, the brim is just about bullet-proof lol
Scooter
Will have pics very soon but the hat has been worn one or two times, the sweat is like new and I don't think taper would be a huge prob...
Gracias,
Scooter
