Hello all,
Does anyone know what kind of leather jacket David Schwimmer's character is wearing in "Band of Brothers"?
I have never seen any episodes - me da asked me and he is internet-challenged.
I tried to find a picture on Google and the only one I found it kinda looked like a dark...
Brian May is a well known clog wearer... But I don't think he wears his with a suit.
I don't think I'd go for that look myself, but if that is what floats your boat...
Finally! Downloaded the fuzzy pics off me mobile...
Royal Stetson - 1
Royal Stetson - 2 Royal Stetson - 3
Okay, so it doesn't look too Casablanca-esque in these shots, but in person it does.
It is my favourite hat so far. It is straight as can be, I had to introduce a wee bit of...
Hola amigos,
I recently brought one of my suits in to the cleaners. Instead of the short exchange limited to "when do you want it back", I was asked how I wanted it cleaned, just standard steamed (?) or "hand brushed, finished and steamed".
I was a bit unprepared - has anyone every heard...
Hello all!
I am posting this question on behalf of my wife...
Would anyone know where to get some well-tailored, well-made "classic" women's clothing in London? We arrived here in Dublin a few months ago and my wife has tired of the same old, mass produced "High Street" fashions. Cheap...
Greetings all,
Does anyone here have a G-8 jacket? I'm curious to find out more on them.
I've always liked the way they looked, especially the similarity to the Raiders-type jackets. Never much cared for the elastic on the other WWII-type jackets either...
The pint glasses look good!
I got the mug not too long ago as well. My friends have commented favourably on the mug.
It is, however, gigantic! It is much larger than I thought (a good thing), and much larger than my other mugs at home. Now I know which one to use when I need some extra...
What Feraud said above is spot on.
I really liked the film, but more for the visuals than the actual storyline. Until I'd seen this film, I wasn't too keen on Billy Bob, but I think he was very good in this film.
I remember seeing it in Dublin at the UGC... The fact that it was B/W...
Has anyone here tried the Body Shop's "Hair Slick"? It is a "medium hold" product. I was using Murray's, but my wife doesn't really care for it. I have to admit that it is rather... emm... like using tar.
I tried the "Hair Slick" and I'm not too thrilled with it. It smells nice, but that...
My screen name is my name. Matei is the Romanian version of Matthew... I use Matthew/Matt when I introduce myself to English speakers, but with family it is always Matei... or Mateias (mateiash - diminutive)...
Greetings all,
Question - what makes a suit "shiny"? I mean an undesirable type of shiny...
For example, the other day I was waiting at the bus stop with my back to the sun. I noticed a high proportion of the suits worn by people coming in my direction displayed an underlying "shinyness"...
Here in London we still have milkmen (!) and I've seen them deliver the milk in bottles...
I think getting a parcel wrapped in twine and heavy brown paper is the coolest thing. Sadly enough I don't often have the opportunity to send them!
... just an update on this old hat.
After I cleaned it up a little with some steam and a brush, I shaped the brim a wee bit to give it some taper and a front pinch and voilá - an authentic "Casablanca"-looking hat!
The brim seems a bit small and the ribbon a bit narrow to compare to the...
Thanks for the reply.
Yes, the edge is bound and there is plastic in the top of the liner. No XXX that I can see on the band... I'll see if I can look under the band for any clues.
Cheers!
Greetings all,
Just thought that I'd post about a new "old" hat that I recently acquired,
incidentally my first vintage hat.
As some lowlife stole my digital camera, I can't post pictures as of yet, so
I'll do my best to describe it. Maybe some knowledgeable soul can estimate
its...
