Great look, completely!
That is exactly the way I like the brim to break on my better hats. I think it looks sportier when it breaks side-to-side rather than front-to-back.
I was stopping in to get some coffee before going out dancing and drinking. The full evening dress has become my nightly going out on the town ensemble. I reserve the fedoras and double breasted or three peice suits for more casual settings. I have always like top hats more than fedoras. I will...
There is a lot of talk here about comments people get about their hats bu tin spite of the fact that about all anyone wears in San Seb for a hat is a boina(basque beret) I got all kinds of very complimentary comments about my hats there very frequently[huh]
Especially when I was wearing it on...
Ivory makes a lot of sense, I imagine that avorio is italian for it [huh] (I speak Spanish not italian) but I know without doubt that it's sharp:eusa_clap
Borsalino 5X
I have been wearing my Neapolitan XXXXX(haven't found any other name or reference on it) the last couple of days and have found that even though the felt is that buttery, luxuriant, light type the wider multi-layered sweat and cushy lining make up the difference. Should mention...
That Alessandria is such a great looking hat.:eusa_clap I think of that colour in terms of "Pearl" is there a proper name for it?[huh]
I definitely don't have anything as nice a colour in my stable
Great hat, now take it and get on the first train to Gare D'Austerlitz where you board the sleeper to Hendaye/Irun. After another half hour on a commuter called El Topo you arrive in the city of San Sebastien/Donosti Espana:eusa_clap . One of the most beautiful and wonderful places. I lived...
In this place the temp goes up and down like a yoyo, today is that 7F/-14C here and, since I never got much chance to wear it yesterday, the Borsalino:
gets another day out :D
I guess you can't get PMs yet.
It doesn't need professional cleaning at all. The hat really needs a good brushing and maybe a little application of a sponge. The liner has a pin-hole in it from unknown source but is very clean as is the sweat band. There are no worm holes or even bites that I...
Happy New Year, It's a wonderful life
Sitting in the living room with the TV on and I look around at 24 hats, another on the stretcher, two on the hat pegs by the back door and I just sent off the deposit on my first VS.
Life's pretty good from this viewpoint :)
Thinking you shouldn't second-guess yourself...
if that's a 7 1/4 to 3/8 I think I can help you out.
Your first instinct was probably correct and you should lighten your burden by finding that hat another home. I just happen to know of such a place, can send you the info (just to be helpful...
lol
When I look at that hat I think of muskrat but the russians may have slightly different "furry critters" than those of ours.
I'm trying to get my hands on one of those vintage raccoons they all seemed to wear in the 20s;)
