    Drop everything & Watch

For me, it has almost always been The Godfather and The Godfather Part II, any of The Man With No Name movies, or just about any of the James Bond movies. At the time, it depends on how busy I may be, but I would most likely watch one of these films if they are playing. I don't watch TV much...

What was the last TV show you watched?

I watched more Johnny Staccato. I'm almost finished with the first disc of three. I wish this show wasn't cancelled so early, it's great!

What was the last TV show you watched?

I recently watched the first two episodes of Johnny Staccato, because I bought the series on eBay. It's a great, but short crime TV show with a very good jazz score by Elmer Bernstein. One of the pianists is even John Williams!

"Mad Men" on AMC (US) - (Spoilers Within)

I'm a fan, and I've thought about that. You have a point that the further they get away from mid century modern styles the less recognizable it would become from the "original" Mad Men. I like the late '50s through early '60s period this show had beginnings in, but I think it's very interesting...

    Hair cuts

Thanks! The taper cut is going to be my regular haircut again for now, after having tried some different hairstyles since I had a buzz cut last summer and grew it out more.

    Happy Easter, everyone!

    What are you listening to?

The 1959-1960 crime TV show, Johnny Staccato, had some of the finest jazz/lounge music I've heard. I just bought the album on iTunes, and here is a good example of Elmer Bernstein's jazz: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JIgm62B4nHs Here is also the excellent opening to the show...

    What are you wearing today??

Congratulations, Tom! I haven't got around to baptism, myself. That's a really nice tie, too.

    Lock & Co. Video

Thanks! I believe Lock & Co. also made the trilby hats that Sean Connery wore as James Bond, although we got to see them mostly tossed on the hat rack.

    What are you wearing today??

The suit, tie, and hat all look good!

    Hair cuts

For a while, I've had medium length floppy hair. Recently, I've returned to a classic taper cut and a slicked back side-part. Even though some of you aren't into it, I would be lying if I didn't acknowledge that there's more than a little Mad Men influence going on here. I also ordered a couple...

    Are all "Supers" really "SUPER"???

You do have a point about the made in China/Indonesia/Philippines phenomenon that has largely taken over. When it comes to my experiences wearing a suit, I wear a super 90s wool suit from Land's End (their year rounder tailored fit suit). Considering that I've bought it late 2011, it's held up...

    Are all "Supers" really "SUPER"???

Thank you for the information. I also watched the video. It's interesting how suits were originally much more functional and intended to handle frequent wearing. Now they are essentially like costumes that certain members of society are expected to wear to work or to weddings/funerals/events. Do...

    Cocktail Nation Lounge music podcast

Since the other day I've started listening to the latest two podcasts, and it's great stuff! I'm mainly an instrumental jazz fan, but vocal lounge is quickly becoming a favorite.

What was the last TV show you watched?

I've watched so much Mad Men within the month, that I'm up to Season 5, episode 4. I hope to finish it in time for the new season coming on TV soon.

    Are all "Supers" really "SUPER"???

Why are "super" wools so popular for modern suits? When it comes to wool, I know that vintage suits are generally thicker and sturdier than modern suits, which are most commonly lightweight and flimsy in contrast. It would seem that almost all modern suits off the rack at clothing stores are...

Driving in a suit or sport coat: Jacket off or on (and buttoned or un-buttoned)?

I have never put a coat on a hanger in the car, I just unbutton the jacket. It is probably the most efficient method however, to hang the jacket due to wrinkling while seated. When wearing an overcoat or raincoat, I just leave it on, or if it gets warm, put it on another seat.

The shiniest? Brylcreem or Groom and Clean?

I was wondering about this lately, myself. It has been over a year and a half since I last used Brylcreem. I have since used Dax Wave & Groom, which is thick, hard-holding if much is used, and not that shiny. I'm interested in knowing what Groom & Clean is like. Do they still make it, or did it...

What was the last TV show you watched?

A Piece of the Action was fun, but The Way to Eden was tacky. It fit in with much of the third season. I like those funny, odd episodes sometimes, but Star Trek is best when it is more serious.
