In terms of the colour chart you linked to, Neophyte, my Squatter was more akin to Lagoon Blue than Carbon Grey/Steel. I'd say it was most definitely not Carbon. What makes it interesting is that I haven't observed the blueness of that hat in any other Carbon/Steel Greys shown here... Perhaps my...
Ahh. We've got one of those here. I don't visit often, but they have tons of shoes! I typically go for the casual outdoorsy vibe in my wardrobe, it works for me.
I must say that after handling Rodkins' Cattleman yesterday, I've got to have one! I was shying away from the fawn, but it's a really...
My love of hats has its roots in two places, Frank Sinatra and Indiana Jones. Even though my parents wouldn't let me see the Indy films, I loved the look, plus my friends and I would play Indy at school... it was little more than making whip crack sounds and digging around in playground sand. :D...
That is a REALLY good question, Duper. I see what you mean on the Steel Squatter, Carbon Casual thing. You know... I think Hats Direct have the color name wrong as other sources cite it as "Steel Grey". Everything Australian say it's Steel, and sure as anything Akubra's own site should know what...
You have got to be kidding me... seriously? They actually use patches? Please. Call me old school but I think if people smoke in the real world, they ought to on film/television... to me it's extremely fake [read kiss up politically correct garbage] to have no characters who smoke. I hate the...
You have a Born outlet, Neo? I'm not sure if we've got one, but if so, I've gotta check it out. I like their stuff.
Those Nash do look similar to the R.M's. I like the Hemlock, myself. I just noticed these, though. They appear to have a replaceable sole.

I sold it a few months ago. The carbon grey is very "blue" so much so that most of the time it didn't look grey at all. I'll dig up a photo of the hat so you can see what I mean.

Here are a few... on head and then with other Akubras that I own/have owned.
I fiddled with the colors...
That looks fantastic! What I like about changing out ribbons to taste is it makes for a much more personal hat. [this from someone who doesn't own a hat with an aftermarket ribbon]

I thought that's what it looked like, but couldn't be sure. My favorite watch [in my small collection] is my Seiko 007 but lately it hasn't been worn much. [need to pull it out again]
I think one of the coolest modern factory western hats I've seen in some time is on the Akubra website homepage... the one where the guy's drinking water in a stream or something. The little downward kick he's added to the front of the crease is awesome looking.

G'day, mate! :D Looking sharp in the LR! I've been wondering how it looks these days. Man, you're making me want a sand hat! At present, I'm saving for a pair of Blundstones [$150 or so ain't much but I'd rater save than put something on a credit card], so the hat is a ways off.
I have zero zilch absolutely no clue why people think CELL PHONES are replacing watches. I never look at the time on my phone, I look at my wrist. I don't have to flip something or hit a button to see my watch face.
Having said that I have a deep and abiding loathing for cell phones. I cannot...
I guessed as much.
A quick inquiry for Campdraft owners. Do you swirl the front tag end of your ribbons up and back or down and back? I prefer down and back, but noticed Jabos had his up and back.
