Your great grandfather's hat reminds me of this guy:
I think Buffalo Bill influenced Americans (and probably later on, movie producers) in the early part of the 20th century with his Wild West Show. He was, of course, a showman, and not necessarily depicting an accurate portrait of the...
And I almost forgot, Mario, we need to get in touch with Scorsese and get you on Boardwalk Empire. Looking good! Also, Bart, you're going for a bit of a different look today, but you've still got your own style...
Rodkins, you continue to post great lids. Deputy Swoopy, I really like that Buckaroo - the ribbon sets it off really well! Zetwal, I've yet to see a hat you posted that I wouldn't want to own and wear, and Michaelshane, great style as always!:eusa_clap:eusa_clap:eusa_clap
Thanks, Sheba, I'll keep your suggestion in mind as well. And to return the favor, pretty much all the hats that are of interest on the Lounge are fur felt. They are either rabbit, hare, nutria, or beaver, or a mix of these. Additionally, there are wool felts (which are also animal) but they...
Thanks, Deputy! Much obliged, and also thanks to Rusty as well. I think I'll try this version instead of Scottyrocks' method - around these parts I'd be more likely to see a coyote run off with my lid rather than a squirrel, and I wouldn't want either one to happen.:)
Thoroughly off-topic of the thread, Fort Point is such a neat place to visit, even if you're just watching the surfers manage the healthy tides rolling in and out of the bay. Your docent work must be pretty interesting, Guttersnipe!
I retrieved a really nice Royal Deluxe Stetson OR from ebay. The previous owner apparently felt the need to give it a deodorizing treatment, and it has a cloying, perfumey odor. I am guessing they shot it pretty liberally with Febreze. Is there any way to neutralize this? Thanks for your...
Well allow me to pile on, because that is, indeed, a fantastic hat Lexy! I've noticed a few of your postings, and you have a great eye for picking really nice lids.
Alan, you've certainly jumped into the fray with both feet. Both are great hats - I've not heard of Vanzina before but it looks really special. Nice work!
I was in a sporting goods store today wearing a brown Champ and standing in line to check out. One of the employees at a sunglasses counter nearby caught my attention by saying "Hey, I really like your hat! Where did you get it?" She was probably all of 25, and quite a nice looking young lady...
Buler? Buler? Sorry I can't resist doing that every now and then. A gorgeous unknown who wouldn't have looked out of place in a scene with Grace Kelly and Cary Grant.
Some great hats today! Bolt, HPG, you guys look great. Mario, that's a GREAT noir picture - the whole thing works! Mr. Friedman, I haven't seen your other posts, so welcome to the Lounge, and your upturned brim warrants the optimism. Dinerman, your ensemble puts the "man" in Dinerman. You...
