 I actually cringed reading this! lol would be like a mega band-aid being stripped off!
*note to self* make sure to supply resumes for future waxers
Welcome to the lounge beaucailou! Great to see another Northwesterner!:D Me and MK know of a few great places as well, we'll have to hook up sometime!
Btw: Have you discovered the vintage shop, 'Avalon' yet?
Sheer black stockings like the ones from Magnolia Hosiery scream evening to me, but I might do them for a dressy day look if I wore black.
I think it also depends on the outfit you're wearing. I tend to wear sheer black stockings more during the winter months than say, spring and summer...
:eusa_clap Well said! This is what I think is so great about the 40's and 50's, the clothes seemed to encourage a curvy woman instead of the pencil stick which is in style now.
I find that with clothes, you pretty much just have to try it on...gone are the days where you can look for a particular size, grab it, and go.
Vintage sizing is different than modern sizing. I'm either in a size 1 or 3(depending on the different clothes designers)...with vintage however, it's...
I just may have to look into that (brow waxing)....I'm a huge wimp myself !:)
Laura Mercier also makes a great eyebrow powder, which I like to use for day wear sometimes...but the NYC stuff really does the job
They look good martini!:eusa_clap I'm glad you really like the product as well!
You are brave for going in for the waxing! Or is it not so painful around the eyebrows? I did the leg thing once...came out thinking that was the most ridiculous form of willing torture I ever had to go through!
A few people can get away with having very black eyebrows, but this is when it's a natural occurance...mother nature does know what she's doing! Other times, it can come across as very fake. I have seen however some blondes that had darkish eyebrows and looked absolutely stunning...but it takes...
I just knew we had the same kind of features! Good thing I got some advice!:D I have a lot of red heads in the family genes, and greeks. Most of my life, I absolutely hated my looks! they just weren't real popular so I'd do the fake blond thing....just recently, due to the toll it takes on...
Thanks Fleur!...that's what I was thinking...but wasn't quite sure:) .....I love dresses like that, it gives the silouhette such a much better look...blouses are a must for this as well!
