If you said you looked like one celebrity from the Golden Era...

I can never get the Celebrity Collage to post in here. Am I missing something? At any rate here's my pic. A bit of an odd duck, I'm afraid. I don't think I look like much of anyone. The Celebrity Collage Generator said I looked like Bette Davis, Kate Winslet and Drew Barrymore. I guess...

If you said you looked like one celebrity from the Golden Era...

Ran my picture through the Celebrity Collage and the only golden age celebrity that I got was Bette Davis. Not quite sure I see it. lol

    Early comic strips

The details and imagination of Little Nemo never fail to amaze me. The colors and draftsmanship are stunning. I'm with you, I don't know how McCay did it every week. The only other comic that I think comes close to McCay's work is Tony Millionaire's Sock Monkey, but Sock Monkey doesn't come...

    How about the WORST ads?

lol Yes, but the non-binding legs make it easy for everyone to sport "Action Jeans" without hurting yourself. A friend saw this ad and said he needed non-binding "In-Action" jeans instead. lol

    Another outfit challenge!

Texasgirl - I really like the seersucker shirt dress that you posted, thanks for your help! Right now it's at the top of the list for choices. :)

    Another outfit challenge!

I wonder if I used a solution of hydrogen peroxide and water to wipe the hat with, if it would help to whiten the straw?

    Furniture Mojo...

Good luck! My condolences to whomever has to get that set up three flights of steps. lol It took 3 people and a crowbar (it got wedged in the landing on my stair case) to get my waterfall front chiffarobe up one flight of steps and we still had a hard time. It was so heavy and hard to...

    Another outfit challenge!

Here are pictures of the hat. It is in good shape, but the straw is a bit dingy from age and dust. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to clean the hat? It is made of straw. As for dress, skirt, pants, etc. - I am open to anything, but a dress would be nice. Thank you!

    Dishpan Hands....

Never garden without gloves! You never know what kind of bugs or beasties are hiding where you put your hands! I had a brown recluse spider (their bite makes your flesh rot away) jump out on my hands once and try to bite me. Luckily, the gloves saved me.

    Another outfit challenge!

Alright ladies, I need your help finding an outfit for a Kentucky Derby party. My friend that is having the party is going all out with traditional Derby drinks, food, etc. She really puts a lot of thought into creating a "traditional southern genteel" atmosphere for the party. My husband...

    Show Us Your Purchases!

I have this pattern! :) I keep holding on to it in hopes of getting around to making a western split skirt. I want to make it in black gabardine with white fringe around the bottom and chain-stitched horseshoes on the pockets. It's on my long list of projects that I never seem to get aaround...

    My Vintage Radio Collection

Forgotten Man - May I ask where you got the lampshade for your bridge arm lamp? I have a very similar floor lamp that my cat recently knocked over, breaking the original paper lampshade. I have been on the search for a new shade, but the nice ones that I find are so expensive. The cheaper...

    Dita Von Teese

lol We may discuss not liking certain fashion eras like the 70s or 80s, but I think the 90s were far worse. It was the beginning of the end that brought on the reign of slobby and much too casual dressing. At least in the 70s and 80s people still dressed up. lol

Tawny Tan of the Day - April 9, 2008.

Linda Darnell... a tragic and mostly forgotten actress. She struggled with alcoholism and weight gain all during her career and then was killed from burns she received in a house fire that she started by falling asleep with a cigarette. Such a shame, she was so lovely.
