    I missed it because I still had some earlier model cars that actually needed leaded fuel. The lead raised the octane and cushioned the valve train from self destruction. But, those cars are gone, and along with that, my need for leaded fuel.

    I remember when AM radio was King of the airwaves. For me, I started listening in the late forties, through the fifties and sixties, and then FM started to gain listeners. The very first song I heard on FM was "Candles in The Rain" by Melanie Safka, 1970.

    We changed over to strictly automatics since moving to western Pennsylvania where you are always going up or down hill. Our last manual transmission car was a Mini Cooper S model. Lots of fun to drive, but then constant shifting became unfun.
