There are other items too, but these are the two I'm getting :) I've had my eye on these for a while now, but I am not about to drop $60 on a dress...
Actually, tampons were invented in 1929 and submitted for patent in 1931. They were first sold in 1936. I was amazed to learn that, too!
This website I found features some vintage ads...this is thought to be the first brand of "internal sanitary napkin" marketed.

Wow, GoldLeaf - thanks!
I am like you - I hate going to the doctor or having procedures done unless it's absolutely necessary because it just makes insurance that much more expensive, not to mention I feel like a hypochondriac, reacting to every little thing that I think is wrong with me.

Just bringing this oldie back to the top.
Does any one have any insight on what types of herbal remedies ladies might have used back in the day? I realize with modern technology we have those lovely head packs from ThermaCare and Midol, but what do you...
Shy or outgoing? Shy around strangers, very bossy around my friends (not much has changed, I suppose!) As an only child I had to grow up a little quicker than most kids my age. I got along much better with adults than kids.
Active or a couch potato? A little of both. We'd always play outside...
Hey, those postcards are super cute!! If you like those types of things, have you checked out www.annetaintor.com? She has some awesome note cards and things...cracks me up!

I really need to stop buying clothes...although, if I get one of the jobs I interviewed for, I'll *need* some new work clothes....hmmm....;)
I always keep my hair this length (give or take a couple inches) just because it is so much easier to deal with. Admittedly, I'd like it a tad longer for ponytails, but I'm content with this length.
I have only tried two vintage-ish styles with my hair (that I've worn in public) - the style...
:offtopic: , well kind of...
You know what really peeves me? I have weird feet to begin with, but my little pinky-toe is uber weird...it is so small and when I wear certain sandals or open-toe shoes sometimes the little guy likes to sneak out from the cozy confines of the shoe!
