Is this for the RAGO underbust girdle? I did read in the whatkatiedid sizing that you should hold your tummy in and have the tape measure real tight when measuring, when I do this I do come up as a 30 - now I dont know what to get!
I swear someone has already posted this question - only I can't for the life of me find it now, but I have a question about RAGO shapewear:
For the Powermesh Girdle, should I order a size smaller? My Rago waist cincher is a 32inch, my natural waist - but it does say it is cut smaller. The...
Wow, that is great news! I can't wait until Christmas now! I was going to buy it myself, heaven knows I have waited long enough for it to be released - but my dad needed some ideas, so I will just have to be patient!
This forum has a seriously bad effect on my purse you know - I am suppose to be spending money on others (Christmas is only a few weeks away) but I still fall for the links everytime. I am going to have to start boycotting some of your posts ;)
I have tried a corset, a Vollers one.. it made my waist look REALLY tiny. Even though I am a 32 waist, they tried a 28 but eventually I was fitted into a 26 inch GASP! - and I bought it at £95! But did I have the confidence to wear it? NOPE! My boobs just looked horrendously HUMUNGUS in it. I...
Thanks for the link Miss Bella Hell!
I am 5'8 rather than 5'3 if it makes any difference? I have huge hips which always depressed me until now, but now I can say I have an 'hourglass figure' which sounds much better!
What is the definition of a natural hour glass figure.
For example, I am big in the bust making me a 38 - but that is due to cupsize only.. my actual ribcage is a 34. So then I am 38, 32, 41. Is a true hourglass a balance of bust and hip?
1940s Bra
Did they always use cup sizes in the 1940s? I am a 34FF so a bit difficult for me as I would like to get a truely vintage set (or very good repro) not necessarily glamourous in anyway - but 'everyday' bra, knicker and girdle/suspender set.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Hi Fleur
I have been e-mailing Katie, she said it should be OK with the matriesse knickers when wearing waist cincher. I have the RAGO one, it holds everything in and gives me a smaller waist and I have to say, it is a God send!
If the bra is a little tight, I don't care - I plan to...
Do you mean that you pin curl the whole lot the night before - and then pin curl the front again (when dry) in the morning and keep the top grips in? It looks like her hair is netted at the back, my hair isn't as long as hers so I would need it big at the back.
I have never pincurled my hair before, I am really rubbish at doing anything with my hair! I think because there is just so much of it. I REALLY need to give it a go, maybe when it is wet? I just can't see how a little kirby grip can hold a curl in place, you must use such a tiny amount of hair...
A slight alternative?
If anyone is interested, I contacted the guy at www.1940.co.uk about the 1940s hairstyle book (he used to sell it) and he has recommended this book:

It's on my Christmas list, so can't tell you what it's...
I have just ordered a bullet bra from whatkatiedid. She only goes up to an F cup (a that is in one colour I think - black) I am usually a 34FF - so I am hoping, beyond hope, that it is going to fit me!
I was going to purchase the girdlette too, I am a UK14 and a 32 waist, the whatkatiedid...
Well this was 5 years ago now, when I tried to go Marilyn blonde. If I am honest, I don't think blonde really suited me. I have the darkest eyes and very dark eyebrows, but despite this, I am REALLY pale! But then I guess Gwen Stafani can do it?
Any idea how to achieve this kind of style, it looks quite similar:
P.S. Not a great example - but if anyone has seen 'The War Bride' (I am a huge Anna Friel fan :))
