Gentlemen, show us what you've made!

Damian, love the fabric. What did you use for inside the brim? Interior photos? Here's what I just finished:

FS: 1940s 3 piece suit and 1930s sportcoat

I was sad to part with both of them, but I've lost a lot of weight over the last several months and they just didn't fit anymore.

The definitive 40's fedora? Which is it?

Do a little research. Check out the EBay Hats thread and the Show us your New Hat thread, you'll get an idea of what's out there, what people are buying, and what they're paying.

Your long range weather forecast: COLD

The leaves are starting to turn here, though the last couple days have been in the 80s. I'm looking forward to cooler weather one way or the other.

The Thread to Display Your 1930s Suits

That's an interesting finish on the back waist. Usually on backs with a seam at the waist the seam allowance is pressed open on the outside and covered by the belt. Here it looks like they were overlapped, with the lower piece's edge bound (am I correct that the stitching on the edge binding...

There is some serious shaping going on with that waistcoat.

The ideal stroller/black lounge jacket. A little big around for me.

DEATHS ; Notable Passings; The Thread to Pay Last Respects

Marian McPartland, jazz pianist and radio host, has died at 95. I used to listen to her on the radio all the time. http://www.npr.org/blogs/therecord/2013/08/21/161653933/marian-mcpartland-piano-jazz-host-has-died

What do you think of this collar? 1930s shirt

It's a very nice shape. On a neck, probably with a tie, it would look even better. Here's a couple similarly shaped collars (these ones detachable):

A double breasted 3-piece is a personal 'holy grail'. No fancy details, just a clean suit, preferably a dark blue flannel.

WOW DEADSTOCK 30s TIE FABRIC--ART DECO GALORE

Thanks, gents :) TT, if there's interest I will certainly do some more. I also have modern silks that I've bought to make ties, but that's outside the scope of this particular project. Maybe I should get some labels (sewn onto the small end, of course).

    Toppers Unite

It is not beaver, it's silk plush. 'Beaver hat' held on in American jargon strongly enough that it's a common error now. Personally, with that amount of wear around the crown and brim, I wouldn't pay $300 for it. You can find toppers in much better condition for a similar price if you're patient.

Ebay Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

Received this the other day. Steamed back to life, a Champ homburg. Similar in dimensions to my '30s Mallory, but without the reverse taper to the crown. Still not a bad hat.
