What's with Ray Winstone's hat? This is set in the late fifties, isn't it? Or is he a vintage enthusiast?

I was upset about Jeff Healey too. His hot jazz outfit was sensational.

The Batman Animated Series had amazing art deco style

Didn't mean to dis the Fleischers I was only comparing them to the Batman cartoons, which obviously found their inspiration in the Fleischers... I still love the Fleischer Superman shorts and will cut them as much slack as they need. I also like the Popeye and Betty Boop cartoons they produced...

The Batman Animated Series had amazing art deco style

A classic. I'm not a Batman fan at all, the movies bore me silly, but I love the series. My kid loves it too, though the Joker scares him a little. The new series that just ended had a great-looking Batman, with his claw like fingers, but the other characters were not as well-handled and the...

Good looking boaters that won't break the bank?

This classic is on sale at Miller Hats: My understanding is that there is only one manufacturer of these hats left - in Italy - and so price variance will be minimal.

Interesting new shoe line from Timberland

Are they supposed to look all swollen at the toes like Bugs Bunny feet, or is that something to do with the angle from which they're photographed?

£30million remake of Brideshead Revisited this year!

For the big screen? That means shorter, dumber, more music. Well, we live in a culture that is compelled to eat itself, and with a new version of some Jane Austen book coming out every two weeks I guess twenty-odd years must seem like a very, very long time to wait for a remake to some...

Historical Houses lost to Fire - More than just an old building to me

Here's another from Southern Ontario and the GTA: Neglected Shuter Townhouses Collapse Around here you have to learn to live with the demise by neglect of local history, coz if you shed a tear everytime something fell to bits you'd dehydrate and die.

Feedback on e-bay. Fair or not?

Ebay bugs in so many ways but the feedback thing is the bugginist. Any seller who doesn't give me feedback when I complete my end of the transaction simply gets no feedback from me unless there is some really really good reason to leave negative. The tit for tat things is moronic.

    OUT OF THE PAST

Ooohh... Something fascinating I guess. Broke a rule maybe. Don't remember now. The movie is a great one though. Remade as the risible Against All Odds. Phil Collins.... yuk.
