    Wearing them in rainfall will do it. Putting them in a pillow case and cold wash with water only will soften leather up, but it's not really necessary. I solved the problem completely by buying goatskin jackets.

    9 Aeros and 1 Simmons Bilt (on the way). I probably have a good 6 or 7 tailor-made or bought overcoats; I own a Pike Bros. Deck jacket and a Carhartt Detroit, too. When the SB arrives, I'm definitely done for a fair while - there's not enough space and I'd like to spend more money on beer.

    I have a Simmons Bilt Klondike incoming. Opted for olive stitching and olive gabardine lining with all buttons in brown and triangle patches on all pocket edges in shiny black goat. I'm considering a Long Half Belt in battered tan from Aero next year if I can shift a couple of other jackets...
