Edward, I feel your pain. What with LOL's and things like, "How ru today," proper spelling is completely out the window. Additionally, those of us who might point out the errors are seen as pedantic. On topic, I did not rob any banks today in my sunglasses or fedora.
Hey Dude In Black, welcome to the Lounge! Since we can't talk you out of the black hat, consider losing the feather when you get it.
Or not, after all it's your hat.:)
My best guess is the hat is fur felt. Lexol cleaner then Lexol conditioner on the sweatband, and a good brushing of the hat with a hat brush. Please don't use Lysol.
I haven't heard of Opinel before now, but for the price I just ordered a #6 carbon steel. Those look completely cool, and I am partial to carbon steel from using/owning straight razors.
When shaping a hat you usually want to either steam or water the felt, depending on the situation. Leave the sweat alone. If I use water, I'm usually spritzing the hat with a spray bottle. You would definitely want to treat an older, vintage sweatband with with lots of care, as some of them...
I'm not sure I understand this:
"an outward facing edge binding that does not cover the Boss Raw Edge."
Can anyone enlighten me? It has an edge binding but it doesn't cover the edge?
Alex, I like that Stetson on you. Looking good!
Monbla, how are you going to go wrong with a Cuenca for $9.99? Excellent!
RBH - I like that pug. It almost gives it a bit of a bandana look...
Big E - Lookin' sharp with that shirt/hat combo!
