i share John's opinion on the matter -
variety IS the spice of life for me as well.
so i change my scent daily.
i use Bay Rum whenver the mood takes me.
i wore a school uniform for my first 6 years of school and hated it.
i realized later how EASY it was, but i hated the fact that it was imposed on us. and was so booooring.
perhaps schools can propose uniforms consisting of flip flops, backwards baseball caps and oversized or undersized...
Kenneth Anger did a couple short films where he dealt with the aesthetics the 50's/60's biker/hot rod subculture.
of course his interest beyond art was the eroticism of the young men, so if you are put off by that i wouldn't bother looking at them...but otherwise they are a great time capsule...
CSI had an episode with a man who wore corsets to emulate his civil war relatives.
"Further investigation reveals that he wore a wasp corset, as was fashionable with gentlemen during the Civil War."
Well, everyone knows you can believe everything you see on TV....so I would do my own...
yes, i would'nt say that it was irrational.
at least no more irrational than the the hatred for wearing baseball caps or flip-flops in public.
or hatred for 70's clothes...
;)
i'm a big fan of this film. i saw it numerous times on HBO and then a few years ago i found the DVD in the $5 bin at Wally world..score!
unbelievable cast and such a wonderful story.
i purchased the novel, which i haven't had a chance to read yet.
i'm sure it won't be accurate.
i'm sure it won't be the greatest piece of film.
but it looks like something i'd enjoy.
i won't pony up the $10 to see it in the theater, but i'll take it out of the library when it finally gets there...
hey, i like all sorts of films, the good, the bad...
:eusa_clap
I absolutely LOVE Near Dark. "Let's put it this way: I fought for the South. We lost."
Have you seen Night Breed? It's definitely more of a b-movie, but I love it just the same.
The only 'vintage' style motorcycle gear I wear is engineer boots and bluejeans - and that's very rarely.
I usually wear modern moto-specific clothing that has padding/armor and abrasion resistance.
Of course, this in an entirely personal choice, and different people have different levels...
I am a Hartley fan,
side note...Such a shame what happened to Adrienne Shelly.
For some unknown reason, whenver I listen to Mazzy Star, I think of Adrienne..
