I just picked up their Badlands Type 2 15.75oz jacket last weekend. Same level of quality. Not a missed stitch, or a lose thread, gorgeous fabric.

Will, thanks I appreciate your candor along with another poster's on this thread who echoed a poor experience w/ their QC. It's a shame nice fabric winds up with poor stitching, rivets, etc. My experience with Brave Star was been the exact opposite. Not a bad stitch to be seen, and I look...
I hear you on that heat, Jules- it's brutal here too and just stepping out for the mail was a chore today in my 18oz'ers. Good luck with and enjoy your Iron Hearts!
I agreed with a lot of this, thanks dwilson. I can't justify $450 jeans when Bravestar will sell me a great pair of 22.5oz pants, cuffed and delivered to Baltimore from LA in 2 days for about $150. I do buy thin, cheap, disposable Wranglers from Target for work only for $20. out the door and...
Thanks fellas, I appreciate your opinions. Keep 'em coming. I just love the heft of heavyweight denim. It's just my personal preference after many decades of mall jeans/Levis- not they they don't have their place...
Bfd70 yeah that was my experience with Bravestar's 21.5's, and their 18oz pair that arrived yesterday are softening up by the hour with beautiful color. Sticker shock scares me away from IH, but I'm glad your happy with yours!
It's just personal preference I suppose. They're not the best choice for summer wear here in the US Mid Atlantic, and there is definitely a bit of a fight during break in. But I love the weight, fades and texture. I'm hoping more manufacturers will offer my size (32") with cooler weather on...
Thanks El Marro, I have and should've mentioned that. Great quality but I'm looking for US made alternatives that aren't $400. and up. If I do find them, like Unbranded, they only seem to have two or three sizes and that's it.
Hey Brother, I've been wearing a pair of Bravestar 21.5's for about three weeks now, my normal Levi size is 32 also. Tight at first, but stretching out nicely. I'll follow their washing directions to a T...
You may want to chat w/ Charles about any sizing concerns, he's patient and put up with all my newb/dumb questions about sizing. Beg, borrow, or rob a 7-11. You'll love this jacket, it's just a little warm for year-round use IMO. Good luck!
Hi, I bought my Ostmann in February, much for the same reasons you did. I like WW2 aviation and it's not "edgy" like so many riding jackets. Simple, one-piece back... My only niggle is that I find it it's too warm for Mid-Atlantic US summer wear. No, that kind of money isn't insignificant...
